Hey, how did you make the RPM meter work? I've known a lot of people who change their trucks to diesel motors and the RPM meter doesn't work at all. I've been told that gasolines are digital and diesels analogic. Is that right?
i would be very interested in a conversion kit if i had some expendable green in my back pocket, but alas i am all but broke and now can only wish, until i get my truck paid off any way that is.
We have just started a beta testing program right now offering DIY conversion kits. There are (2) slots left. If you're interested, email us for details.
@dieseltoyz Wow wish I had some extra funds as I have a mint condition 1990 4x4 with the gas v6 that gets 15mpg on a good day sitting around, would a older OBD I truck be a pain to throw the d4d into?
@dieseltoyz well thats garbage. just slap some weld on that thing who needs bolts? Im sure it would be costly and time consuming but someone has to be able to machine an adaptive piece? I guess if 4th gear is as high as 5th gear it really doesnt matter on mpgs, which would be my biggest reason for a swap.
NICE JOB I LIKE IT I WOULD LIKE TO CONVERT MY TACOMA TO THE DIESEL WHATS THE COST AND I HAVE THE FOUR CYLINDER NOT THE SIX AND I HAVE THE 5 SPEED BUT RUN THE DIESEL FUEL INSTEAD OF THE VO SYSTEM

is there some reason that the D4D would not hook up to the factory 5 spd auto? just curious why it was down graded to a 4 spd. Very nice work.

@yota243
They're completely different unfortunately and there would be no way to bolt them together. I really like the 5 spd. auto.
