Radar guns are commonly off by a percentage the more you are not in direct pathway of the item you are clocking. The farther off to an angle you point the gun at the subject matter, the higher the percentage it is off by. Their is a formula for degrees and percent calculation correction but I don't recall what it is. The GPS would typically be dead on accurate provided the GPS you used is of very good quality.

@navypilot51 probably for arrow dynamics. Less wind resistance with them closed up. Just an educated guess though.
