james cmon .....if anyone is good with any character they arent a noob...if your able to best another person it just shows who has dominant strength with their chosen character and shows how well they've learned him/her.

Arcade stick. I doubt half the moves could be pulled off as easily with a controller

well... they're easy to pull off with the controller (just that sometimes you'll wish your fingers didn't have any nerves)... but god forbid should you use the joystick, then yes, don't go near the controller
