  • Reunion in 2012!!

  • THE FAWW. MARKEY SMITH.

  • @woobiehastelly The Fall.

  • @ghkbe "THE FAWWWL."

  • Fuck new music!!... I'm a DRIVE-INLIEBER!!!

  • they are only playin chella at the moment, reading on the wikipedia site, I dont thing they really wanted to get back together, they all said they have moved on and the songs are all old now and couldnt see themselves touring and singing them.

  • I envy everybody in this crowd, fuck I hope they come back to oz now

  • @m2rendell FUCK YES!

  • They are back!!!!

    Yeahhh!!!

  • 10 people don't know who the fall is, I hate i mean HATE this type of comments but they're were just feeding me straight lines

  • ¡ ATTENTION ! To whom it may concern: AT THE DRIVE-IN will be breaking their 11 year silence THIS STATION IS …NOW…OPERATIONAL

  • Vuelveeen!!

  • They have reformed.

  • WTF, is the guitarist doing?!

  • ahh drugs are awesome... large doses of intervenious narcotics. let the children use it, let the children boogie

  • magical hand stand @ 2:24

  • This was one of my favorite songs before I knew it was dedicated to my favorite artist, Mark Smith.

  • this is why i mad abut ATDI..

  • the oppositiooooooooooooon

  • This is what love is.

  • dude...I Love The Fall!

  • I wish I could get the whole show on DVD or something, oh, and also it would have been nice to be there, lol.

  • I come back to this video every few months or so. I get a huge, energetic pickup every time. :)

  • Ah fuck. Why did I have to be only 11 when they came to Sydney?

  • @jumbocrunk DUDE NO SHIT, WHY?!!?!?!

  • so. good.

  • hey does anyone know what guitar omar's playing? first i thought jaguar, then mustang, but i'm not sure.

  • @MEEOOWMEOW It's a Squier Sonic...a rare guitar with good sound,like a Fender.

  • @MEEOOWMEOW It's a squier supersonic but it's difficult to spot coz he's playing a right handed model, left handed!

  • 2:05 Omar's Orange Head says "BLAZE", fuck yea.

  • me gusta este grupo y este tema, pero en vivo priorizan esa actitud rockera y toda la boludez y terminan sonando para el orto, las voces, los instrumentos, todo...

    una lastima

  • God I loved the intro.:)

  • @raiders545 I didn't really think about it that way, thanks. As for the album, yeah, I'd probably be the same.

  • yo what head is omar using?

  • @FakeFlourescentSkies It's some kind of Orange. Insanely expensive, but really good amps.

  • I wish I lived in El Paso and was born 10 years earlier. I missed out on so much. Although, I don't think they should get back together, because their best creative energetic years are behind them, and if they put out a new record, it wouldn't sound near as good or the same.

  • @isoleamebuthappysoul Trust me, even with at the drive in being here you wouldn't want to live here, unless you know fluent Spanish that is. Anyway They hated it here, and they only played a couple shows here.

I do agree about if they released a new record it wouldn't be as good, but I'd be so hyped I wouldn't care anyway.

  • escola demais

  • spettacolo di teatro autoprodotto nato nel nome degli at the drive in! rock

  • God I love that opening riff - never fails to send shivers.

  • The intro gets me every time..

  • @AwayinSpace so does the outro..

  • dedicated to a band called the faww.

  • 6 people listen to too much hip hop.....or coldplay

  • sometimes i want to ask cedric to just shut the fuck up and sing and if your not singing your talking to god damn much!

  • @MirroredxGh0st Cedric can talk as much as he wants, he's the one with the microphone and you're not. Sorry, tough break guy.

  • YEAH!!! AT-THE-ONE-OF-MY-FAVS!!!

  • I love how this is being performed on a "The Wiggles" stage

  • @seniorclapshishands thats great, which record did u get? I got into atd-i and the mars volta, and later discovered via interviews with cedric and omar that they were also fans of all the things that I'm really into myself like: doctor who, the fall, pink floyd and drugs!

  • fuckin raw energy...

  • THIS IS FOR MARK E. SMITH - THE CRAZIEST MAN ALIVE.

  • @dannycheesums AGREED.

  • If you don't know who At the Drive-in is....your listening to too much Hip-Hop and Heavy Metal !!!

  • I wish there was a love button.

  • My god they're good.

Just look at them, listen to them.

    They're fucking amazing.

  • cedric should stop jumping arouns so much and concentrate more on singing.

  • Honestly, in these days of hatemoshing at hardcore shows is fucking annoying. But telling people not to crowd surf or mosh? C'mon... That's just silly. They've constantly called people out on it, and it's just stupid.

  • @punkmusicmetal No reason you can't be hardcore and responsible at the same time.

  • @PoeticJustice05 Sure why not. But thats something only you can change for yourself. Cedric and Co would get legitmately pissed off if people kept moshing and crowdsurfing. The music creates that kind of energy.

  • @punkmusicmetal Not really. There's more than one to react to music. This does not make me want to start running into people. It makes me want jump up and down and dance. Just because something's been going on for along time doesn't make it right.

  • @punkmusicmetal Considering somebody died at that festival on that day (Sydney Big Day Out '01), I don't think them telling people to calm down was stupid..

  • @Zadan Well I didn't know the context. I understand that, but they do this all the time, not just in remembrance of a recent tragedy.

  • i love this band and especially this album, but i don't get how you can "send" that much energy from the stage and then tell people to not go crazy. the ones who want to stand in the back and just listen and watch will do just that: stand in the back. like me :-)

  • "Can you guys stop crowd surfing please" Fuck yeah, save that shit for your radio-arena rock bands.

  • mark e smith is surreal as fuck

  • I hope ATDI announce a reunion at midnight tonight Soundgarden-style.

  • Well, I checked The Fall after watching this and they are really really good...Thanks for the tip Cedric!

  • lol I thought this was At the Drive in Shreds at the start

  • @dannycheesums He's succeeded then :)

  • I like this bands music but hate the way they are constantly telling the crowd to stop moshing/crowd surfing/having fun etc. whilst they jump around like lunatics having fun on stage. If people don't want to be involved in moshing/surfing then there are always safer places to stand.

  • @sludgegod666 I think it might've been the drugs. Who knows.

  • @sludgegod666

Funny, given that is the concert that a 16-year old girl was killed during Limp Bizkit's set.

I could make any manner of jokes linking the death as a result of Fred Durst being in vicinity, but his existence is a farce.

When you leak a sex tape, have the audacity to claim that you are relevant, and then act pious about your own self-exploitation, you cross the line into cartoonish retardation.

What the hell were we discussing again?

  • @DOOMSayaar Hey! Durst made New Era hats vastly popular!

  • @Frenzalbears Absolutely wrong. As a fan of both ATDI and TMV...TMV is an much more more matured version of ATDI. ATDI had a time limit; basically until Cedric and Omar realized they were made for more (not to say ATDI isn't INSANELY talented, I would have given anything to see these concerts live). But TMV is most certainly the the next iteration of what ATDI was, you can hear it in everything they do (past and present). :D

  • i cannot figure out what makes ATDI so good. there's just always been something about them that's made them so captivating. incredible band.

  • Mars volta are very self indulgant, they forgot about writing songs. At the Drive-in had energy, intensity, passion and brilliant songs, whereas TMV are a band where the desperation is gone.

  • @Frenzalbears wrong

  • @Frenzalbears i feel the same way, TMV just feels like they are trying too hard to put as much shit as they can into every song.. its too much like they are acting the whole thing out rather than performing

  • i've seen it. let the world collide.

  • i think TMV and sparta were better together as ATDI , U have to admit!!

I seen them play this set live before they walked off, best set i've ever seen!!!!

  • What I find so funny about the open commentary is that Omar and Cedric met Ikey at a hip hop concert, and then later did work with Erykah Badu and Handsome Boy Modeling School. Then Cedric did some work with Mastodon.

  • @JOffJill he said TOO much.

  • 1:46 I love how Omar replaced the flag

  • i love the work that both groups have done. and i have no complaints or doubts about there talents, i have seen tmv live and i am amazed by omars guitar playing and cedrics dancing and wide range of vocals. but i would totaly be pissed if i payed to see this show and have cedric NOT SINGING. thats like 80% the reason i would be there. I understand if people mess up or dont sing on purpose but it was like he wasnt paying attention or not caring. that or he must realy need to dance to live .lol.

  • im the guy on the stage eating the cheeseburger

  • They seriously do not suck live. What band besides do you see this energetic and crazy? If they just sat there and played and didnt run around dancing it would be such a boring show.

  • Wait. So At the Drive-In hate hip-hop and metal? Damn. I like all three. And to those thinking they fuck up all their shows, their other songs are pretty good, but they did fuck up this one.

  • @TheAJMetal He was dissing bands like KoRn and Limp Bizkit. Keep in mind it was 2001. Shitty nu-metal and bullshit hip-hop.

  • If only their live shows were as crisp as their studio productions :(

  • the REAL cedric the enternainer

  • I love this band but man, do they know how to fuck up live.

  • does anyone else think cedric has aged a lot these past 9 years?

  • @shackman13 No. He still looks young. However do you think Mark E Smith looks old? (The answer is yes. He looks like an old hand bag).

  • The fall brillent intro and mark e smith one of the great music stars and at the drive in my day mars volta is good but we need more at the drve in

  • they both rule. obviosuly, the mars volta's work is much more layered whereas ATDI is simpler and punkier. depends what you like more, thats all

  • @ 1:26 - "the opposition can't feel the ca-blah. fuck off!"

  • At the drive in was better than the Mars Volta could ever be. At least there's still Sparta. Yeah, cut that dumb fucking crowd surfing out.

  • @ScrotsMcBoogerballs They are different. that's it.

  • my favorite part is from 0:00 - 4:19

  • 3:30 Off the funking chain!

  • orange head an marshall cab?

  • Si no le hubiera fallado la amplificacion este video hubiera sido aun mas filete de lo que es...

  • 1:32 hahahaha

  • 2:49. So sick.

  • Well I'm totally wired.. can't you seeee

  • tmv and atdi are very diffent bands both feature some amazing musicsions who know how to play there shit

  • asi ahi q tokar sin creer en nadie

  • If up and coming bands should be influenced by ANYTHING it should be these guys right here. Original as fuck

  • lawl that stage is a wiggles stage

  • lol, 2:17

fro guys are tweaking, omar playing off beat so cedric is just like "fuck it" and does a handstand

  • Hey, the bassist has a Murder City Devils t-shirt on!!!! "IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHO THE MURDER CITY DEVILS ARE.... LOL" Seriously, they fucking rock!

  • Fuck Hip Hop and Heavy Metal sometimes ranges on corniness and nonsense just my opinion dont hate me for it

  • haha "if you dont know who the fall is you're listening to too much hip hop and heavy metal" i love cedric

  • sings much better in studio

  • Back then he was young, inexperienced and on dope. Check him out live nowadays.

  • omar's mic needs to be louder lol

  • "If you dont know who The Fall is, youre listening to too much Hip Hop and Heavy Metal."

    Righteous in the extreme

  • hes a little TOO much into being opinionated. When you try to promote a band you don't condescend on the people who have never heard of them

  • well i think it's more of a theme and concept band than playing a great tune or massive virtuosity or simply just clean and precise guitar and bass notes, think it's more brutal and yuck fous, but never got the chance to see them live, i was a baby when they're rocking. well not a baby baby. think that's why it's noisy. so that everybody could break their minds out. na, don't know. cover them in noob gigs and it's so much fun.

  • @zxcvnmtgb i like them better live, cedric's voice is just like raw, and you can hear his transition into when he goes higher pitch with tmv, and i like the guitar distortion

  • LOL WAT?

  • i think pattern against user is their best song.

  • a lotta people would say cedric's live voice during ATDI was the worst he's sung, but I like these videos of Big Day Out I honestly wish I could sing just like Cedric, even if other people don't like him as much as I do

  • for me the worst cedric singin' it's the mars volta at henry rollins.

but it's ok, it doesn't bothers me (:

  • i liked that show! idk i honestly dont think i've ever seen cedric sing particularly BADLY, although sometimes he's not as good as other shows, its usually just the shitty quality of most videos

  • "Will you guys stop crowd surfing? You're fucking hurting him."

    I love you jim lmao

  • i could be wrong but i watched a doco on channel v about the BDO in 2001 and it said ATDI cracked it cos people kept crowd surfing after telling the crowd not to and they just stopped playing later in the show and walked off stage

  • I think the point he was making here was that moderation is fine but people who only listen to certain genres could benefit from varying their tastes. Also at this time he was twisted on drugs, young and full of ego. Things said in the heat of the moment with the adrenaline of performing need not be taken verbatim.

  • well said

  • this is great shit! now im big fan atdi ...reunion 2010 !

  • now THIS fuckin rocks.......

Not too many bands know how to put on a show anymore

  • Comment removed

  • they actually might get back together look at their page on wikipedia!!!!

  • reunion please!!! maybe 2010 they had a good 9 years apart right? i want them back.

  • damn right

  • @rochoa11 I am hoping so hard for that reunion that it hurts!

  • @rochoa11 2011??? haha

  • Great video

  • ATDI needs to get back together (even though I worship TMV)

  • @habitatsk8a totally agree... though omar has said they would never re-unite, I don't see why they couldn't just do one ATDI tour, then get back on with their current projects

  • jim is right! fuck crowd surfing! I was crowd surfing at a show and I fell and, in addition to fucking up my back, I almost broke a guys neck!

  • One of the coolest bands in the world at the time

  • dude i wish i went to big day out 2001 so badly, i dont care if i couldve gotten crushed by the moshers like jessica michalik! i was only 5 or 6years old tho haha, and then atdi split up which sucks. but mars volta's good too

  • man, never, ever, heard anybody ref the fall.Havent heard of the fall since?89?

  • played twice in manchester on tuesday and wednesday this week

  • Good luck, they split up in 2001 or something..

  • Seriously where you been at?

  • lol the introduction was great.

  • latinos + guitars + pcp = fantastic music!!

  • @mikemai123 i woudnt say that some fag rapper ddid pcp and deiced to act out his on eyes

  • @middywashere what? if your talkin a bout big lurch i understand but your sentence doesnt make any sense really

  • @mikemai123 ... are they all mexican except for the rhythm guitarist?

  • @44eelz ...two are mexican-american, one is puerto rican, one is from lebanon and one is anglo

  • @mateosoothsayer Which one is Lebanese?

  • @remyrem121 Tony (drummer)

  • @44eelz WORD

  • @mikemai123 lol pretty fuckin much

  • nice to hear some appreciation for Mark E. Smith and The Fall from Cedric, that man and his music is still far too under appreciated and ATDI were an absolutely amazing musical force.

  • Ever notice that ATDI fans hate TMV? I think They're both just fucking badass.

  • actually most TMV fans are also ATDI fans. it's about 50-50. i personally love 'em both. and Sparta too, for that matter.

  • i dun really like Sparta - i think TMV was the right way to go!

  • @HaydenFromHell They're both very polar. Same artist but very different sound which I think demonstrates their depth and ability as artists. Your post made me decide to give TMV a third chance. But how do TMV feel about sparta?

  • @HaydenFromHell Right on... That's exactly how I've felt. Cedric and Omar weren't feeling ATDI anymore. Big deal. Just be happy for all the awesome music they made, and the fact that they are happy with the music they are currently making. Both bands are amazing for their own reasons.

  • @HaydenFromHell What!? Normal people love both!

  • @HaydenFromHell

same man, they are both some of my favourite bands.

  • @HaydenFromHell As do I. I got into TMV first but I've been stuck on listening to ATDI so much lately.
