  • beautiful people.

  • Eat your hearts out max factor--------maybelline----estee lauder!

  • Stunning Beauty and Harmony with their surroundings!!! Thanks. One of my favorite things is to walk in nature and bring home little bits of bark, seeds stone (things that do not disturb the area). I think I will start playing with wearing some of it. :)

  • They don't look happy. I wonder why that is? Some of these photos look staged. Maybe that's part of it.

  • @tbailen Hans Silvester worked with the Omo to achieve certain effects the Omo liked. They'll repaint themselves several times a day. They really do view their bodies as canvases. Hans Silvester is a remarkable man, a militant ecologist: if his subjects don't conform to our ideas of happiness, their culture and valleys are under assault. You wouldn't be happy either.

  • @TubunMuzu: (1) These people aren't "the Omo," that's a geographic region, not a tribe. (2) These people do not "repaint several times a day," LOL! They would have time for nothing else. One painting can last days or weeks. Also, they aren't all painted all the time. And yes, a lot of what you see here, particularly the flora they put on their heads, is mainly for the camera. The equivalent in USA would be a fashion show. We regularly dress up nice, but not often like a fashion show.

  • Greed can happen in a facist or communist state just the same as capitalism. Don't blame all the world ills on capitalism. The computer you are using was invented and developed by capitalist...good is everywhere...even on the OMO River

  • Beautiful vid!!

  • hellorodney sent me. Nice video =)

  • Yeah one more vote for "there is nothing explicit in this video". Grow up folks <3

  • I think it is a sad commentary on our society that the painted people video is age restricted! Our tolerance for violence is much higher than our tolerance for nudity. Where's that at? Some don't know the difference between nudity and pornography. It's disturbing!

  • beautiful!

  • lol i thought this was about emo people XD

  • Humans are animals ? I understand all that your saying. yet why insult those that understand as you do? why insult creativity? why say someone has false love? to nutralize the repression on the earth we cant battle violance with violance, it is not the same as stoping a fire with fire. this hippy as me has planted 3 million native trees to at least protect fresh water supply. please try living a week with out a drink of water and then come back and call me hippy dippy!!!

  • Looks like some one has gotten in to my youtube acount and wrote the stuff below ??

  • Non-interfeance is a essential element of allowing children stay as artist, it truly is our most precious gift of bring abundance in our lives, Yet we send our children to school or we send then to a music or even art teacher that will force a child to loose his or her uniqueness. yet this is what the world needs to save mother earth, to celebrate our creative co-existance with nature!

  • @EarthBarnRadio

    Haha that's cute.

Sure it sounds nice, but that Hippy dippy Love bullshit will not save this planet.

Stopping global Capitalism, industrialism and "Civilization" will save this planet.

Ending the neo-colonialism that is raping the third world for the material benefit of Americans and Europeans will help save this world.

Indigenous peoples rising up in insurrection to finally and truly oust colonizers and collaborators will save this planet.

    Fuck "creativity" and fake love.

  • I understand all that your saying. yet why insult those that understand as you do? why insult creativity? why say someone has false love? to nutralize the repression on the earth we cant battle violance with violance, it is not the same as stoping a fire with fire. this hippy as me has planted 3 million native trees to at least protect fresh water supply. please try living a week with out a drink of water and then come back and call me hippy dippy!!! got any creative ideas ? @HumansAreAnimals

  • @EarthBarnRadio

I'm sorry for attacking you personally, it wasn't quite what I meant.

I feel that the kind of rhetoric you use is common to the kind of people who actively silence and dissuade other forms of resistance. I'd like to kindly and wholeheartedly thank you for the work you've done but I have serious issues with people who think we will change this world through "love" alone.

Violence works, they've just had a monopoly on it.

You need to support radical resistance. Time is out.

  • Why can't this play on an iPad? They are so beautiful. Very inspiring!

  • Absolutely fabulous ! And the fact that this video has been AGE-RESTRICTED ??!! ,says everything about the western view of life and beauty. There are zillions of violent and endlessly stupid videos on youtube. This one - a study in beauty and creativity - may not be seen by kids ??!!

  • Truly beautiful! This needs to be the new western standard of beauty! These people give a new meaning to natural beauty. I love this vid and as a artist they have inspired me greatly.

  • Awesome!

  • Gostei, porem bem diferente como eles se infeitam.......

    muito legal!!!

  • BREATHTAKING!!!!!!!!!! I have read that they sometimes completely redo their bodies several times a day. And, they have no mirrors!!!!!! They never get to see themselves!!!!! Where is that deep place within us where beauty and harmony is so natural?!!!!!

Thanks so much for posting this. Beauty Blessings.

  • Amazing art!

  • This is breathtakingly cosmic! The Omo people have a look in their eyes as if they know all the secrets of the universe!

  • A delectable feast for your sight.

Beautiful people and their expressive body art portrayed by the photographer in a lovely way.

  • I thought their form of art was wonderfully expressive and full of life. Absolutely beautiful...

  • Hi, Iam doing a in depth theoretical college project on the people of Omo Valley. I was hoping you could send me the pdf you received?

  • GREAT !!!

  • Trying to verbalize this level of beauty is futile.. the words do not exist.

  • This is THE most beautiful presentations I have EVER seen! Thank you so much for sharing it. Hello from Canada.

  • Why do they wear plants on themself? They look so awesome, but also they look so different than what I see everyday. I cannot even begin to imagen what goes through these peoples heads on a day to day basis, it must be so different than what goes through mine, it's so interesting!

  • These photographs are some of the most Soul -Satisfying I know. Such richness in simplicity...

  • I like the music!!!!

  • Fact: 2600000 BCE - First simple stone implements known as pebble tools, the first known evidence of technology called Oldowan after Olduvai Gorge in Tanzania near Omo Valley by hominids.

  • These haunting images of the Omo children by Hans Silvester capture the beauty and simplicity in nature and the world.

  • You are so Blind by what u see in Society that u cant even see right. Open up your outside your environment and see whats going on. Its Exactly what "tsunamirising" said in the above statement about modern capitalism. The reason why Africans run to other Countries is because they have Security as number one key to their success which Africa doesnt have because its not as developed as the rest of the world or United even. Africa is Richer than all the world and it has all links to nature.

  • @Dehboutya Africa is destroying itself. Africa has plenty of guns and soldiers: it should have security. Africa is developed enough to build dams but not developed enough to save the Omo.

  • @TubunMuzu Well yes but they are not linking the right networks for a better future of the people. The leaders are very selfish and the european nations are a big supporter of the idea. Read about the leader and king Mswati III of Swaziland. Google him and u will see a small glipse of really whats happening in africa. Why is the european committee giving this man millions to support his greed and keep his people suffering.

  • @TubunMuzu The development is what is devastating the OMO, there were a similar people in america, not now, are they not developed? They too were having problems with "too many tourists". You are seeing native people, as in people of the earth, if any thing at all could save them, it would be absolutely no "development" at all in africa. These ppl are in direct lineage of those who seeded the ppl of the world, if you wanna save em', leave em' be, and they will be here after we've all parished

  • True beauty.

  • the pictures are bautiful also the creativity but the children look so sad sometimes :(

  • belíssimo!!!

  • Gordon Gekko says, GREED IS GOOD :D

  • I am awed and inspired by the beauty and creativity of the Omo People. May all who view these images be reverent.

  • wow, unspoiled souls still connected to mother earth. eyes of innocence ...... so feminine .....so beautiful........

  • beautiful!!!!!

  • @TubunMuzu Capitalism breeds greed, causing Africans to turn against themselves and enforce slavery and murder for diamonds, gold, medical research, etc. Without the European influence they wouldn't as ademately desire the power to suppress eachother.

  • @tsunamirising This requires some counterfactual not given to us in history. Africans turn on each other, with alarming and grotesque frequency. Greed predates capitalism: greed for land, water, resources, pitting tribe against tribe. Greed is an ancient sin. We love the Omo, but their world is dying away. It is waste of time to assign blame. Somehow they must be saved.

  • @tsunamirising I guess it's not only the European people. U shouldn't lump all together. I never bought any Diomands. I'm not even interested. I'm a christian. I go to an African church every sunday. I show my kids a life together with people who have a different color. and i tell them, that we are equal, even if we look different. But bad people are everywhere. We don't burn our fellow countrymen, cause we think, that they could be witches. I am a German. But I'm no racist.

  • @tsunamirising and by the way: If Europe is so bad and dangerous for the African people , why do they come to live here? Is it because they wish for a better life? or maybe because they have no alternative, no choice? Or maybe because Europe also has a good side? Germany for example is an asylum state. ( For me the people are welcome)

It's always easy to blame someone else for it.

  • I find it unfair to blame white people for everything wrong in Africa, I believe the tribes would still fight reguardless of if they had guns or not... Why is it that Americans don't run around shooting everyone and have zero security and no child soldiers? Just because you wear grass on your head doesn't make you a saint... I dout you have ever even met anyone from the Omo tribe... I'm sure there are mean and nice, stupid smart, greedy generous people in the Omo tribes, just like in the US

  • UNBELIEVABLY FANTASTIC PHOTOGRAPHY OF HAUNTINGLY GORGEOUS

    ART!!

  • UNBELIEVABLY FANTASTIC PHOTOGRAPHY OF HAUNTINGLY GEORGEOUS

    ART!!

  • Beautiful children of the Earth.

  • Magnifique. Why can't such beauty just survive ?

  • spectacular!!!

  • Cuanta belleza.

  • Cuanta belleza.

  • I truly believe that the pinnacle human life on this planet is represented in these and other peoples left scattered around the world. We are on a downward slide with our detachment from nature and dominating cultural beliefs from western societies. Pray to the Mother of All Life for answers to our self destruction.

  • Absolutely Beautiful in every way imaginable. Thank You for this video.

  • Awesome! Looks like something from Alice in Wonderland.

  • Ravishing beauty!

  • Beautiful people beautiful art...

  • This is spellbinding!! Absolutely amazing in all its natural beauty! Just WoW! :D Almost alien in their connection with the world and their obvious disconnection with our modern world. Inspirational stuff, thanks for sharing.

  • this is absolutely beautiful

  • Lady Gaga anyone

  • simply, great work. I believe that outsiders ( ourselves) should protect that existence because it is very artistic, pure , and very advanced compared to our (western civilization) I found here great level of ART, CREATIVITY AND HEALTH. down to earth 100%. no class rooms no technology, no cars, no noise, no teachers, no to lots of our garbage. I wish to go there and never come back.

  • They are truly one with the land. The creativity and difference from one to the next is a stunning image of beauty.

  • Magnificent!

  • I have just watched this video and was moved by just how beautifull these people are. Each photo was simplistic but majestic and captured the individual in their everday existence. I would like very much to go see for myself just how these people live and experience some of their lifestyle. I hope they manage to keep their own individuallity for all time. Long live the Omo people.

  • Words cannot describe what I felt watching this slideshow but is was very moving especially thinking about where these people live - they will probably never get to see themselves - I felt like I was invading their privacy but it was very beautiful.

  • This is one of the most gorgeous things I've ever seen. One is more beautiful and captivating than the next.

  • the music fits very well!

    nice work

I'll be visiting the Omo valley real soon and no doubt this is the music I'll play in my mind

  • This truley is beauty in it's highest form. let's just hope through war and materialistic influence people in the future may still gaze upon such great works of art painted on the body's of such beautiful people.

  • As i watch these images of these naturally beautiful people, a wave of nostalgia comes upon me and it all somehow seems so familiar.

  • So beutifull people. i fail of words to describe this

  • the second song is amazing. someone find me a link/download

  • Wow these guys are bad ass. Hard fucking core yo. I love all their designs

  • i am speechless......this is simply beautiful, especially

1:10 (the last one towards the middle almost completely blends into the bush)

1:24 2:30 3:32 & the one after it and finally my most favourite 4:33 (so beautiful)

  • thank you, this is pure!

  • Stunning!

  • they look like nature spirits LOL.

  • this is freaking awesome......you never see any other culture doing it quite like this.......these truly are people of the earth.......

  • amazing what cultures can exist.

  • Dear TubunMuzu,

Thank you for sharing your insights and truth. I am absolutely confidant that western cultures are contrite in their colonial escapades.

The music is sublime, the pictures are spectacular and the artistry is breath taking. I wish to see it personally, but understand the intrusion. This video will carry the weight of a thousand vacations and the hope these artist survive and prosper.

  • I wish this was how we all are. Such reverence and integration with nature.

  • absolutely beautiful

  • Beautiful

  • very amazing and beautiful

  • You are confusing the good nature of a handful of good europeans that are helping African tribes, with the preponderance of evidence that shows European culture and political powers have destroyed Africa (dividing Africa between European nations leading to internal wars in Africa; theft of African lands and resources by world powers, etc). good / bad people can come in any color, but modern European power has used RACISM and RELIGION to push the world to hate Africans while G8 nations steal !

  • Obviously as Western pure capitalism, and religious thought propagate through the world, even Native peoples are becoming less Earth and environmentally friendly and are acting in very ignorant and selfish ways. Obviously even when the first Africans came into existence there would have been some ignorance and selfishness. But European culture has made matters exponentially worse. Clearly not all Europeans are negative, but Capitalistic slavery, modern religions and capitalism destructive.

  • @gigagroove : The Omo people have been reduced to illegal squatters within the borders of the Omo National Park.. The legacy of colonialism is the national borders of Africa and Africans have done nothing to reorganise themselves. Counterintutively, it is Europeans who care more for the Omo than other Africans. Our legacy is not entirely evil, my friend, nor is capitalism the enemy. The enemy is shortsighted selfishness: only Africans can see wisdom and change themselves.

  • @TubunMuzu

I love the startling honesty, insight, and bravery, in your comments.

    ''Many see, but few understand''.

  • @TubunMuzu I love them !!! they are one with the nature and so beautifull !!!! thanks for all this great images !

  • @TubunMuzu

Capitalism, particularly industrial and globalized capitalism, is absolutely evil.

One must be incredibly undereducated, ignorant or purposefully blind to not see that.

It's not the ONLY evil thing in this world, but it's up there.

You said it, "greed predates capitalism", but Capitalism is Greed incarnated into a socio-economic organization of life. It's pure evil.

My guess is that you are one of the few who benefits from it. White upper-class American much?

  • @gigagroove WHAT R U SAYING? Africans fertile the world of civilization! don't forget it; It's like slap in ur momma face, AFRICA was, is,and more to come, the greatest civilazation that ever exist; NO matter what those damn pink euros say, it's spiritual, uplifting, educating, soul searching, provactive, emerging, it's the LAND OF BLACKS!!!!! Don't forget IT!

  • @TubunMuzu These images are stunning as I am sure the people are as well. I appreciate your comment about the fact that it is the Africans who are doing the raping and plundering. After graduating high school in Southern CA, in '65 I got involved in collecting money for Africa in many ways for many years. One day I woke up and realized that Africa has to do for itself first before others can help them. It saddens me greatly, all the $ sent has gone to the wrong people.

  • i like them alot i hope i can see them along someday i also really want to see the maasai people very cool culture....respect all people

  • Beautiful!!

  • Very cool

  • WOW what an amazing and creative people!

  • wow breathtakingly beautiful

  • Too think, 87% Of Africa has AIDS. Most people in this video are probably Dead now because of: Aids and/or Malaria

  • @isision 87% of africa has Aids? lol man did you pull that number out your hat!?that would mean africa is empty by the end of the year! lol WTF?! where did you get that shit from? And no! the oromo if they live isolated from the urban areas and are not in the congo region do not have to fear contamination

  • @asrafoo I wish I did, but its a true fact, if You knew ANYTHING of africa - its that AIDs is a Generational thing in that Continent, Notice how people say that the Majority Life Time in that Continant is a Teenager. Which means people wont live to become a 'age-reasoned' adult. Malaria is , as you said, in the congo area.. but still, it kills.

  • @isision I'm happy to inform you that , your numbers are wrong.I'm in fact of african origin.during my sociology studies I had to do a survey about the prevalence rate in the golf of guinea on the west african coast.I can tell you the highest rate is in southern africa with 39% (in Swaziland) and the lowest rate is eritrea(est) with around 3%.most countrys have rate between 4 and 10% so your info are wrong. it is dramatic but your number would mean africa is dead and it isn't. omo are eastern

  • @asrafoo From what I heard, Most of Central, Southern, Southeastern, and a bit of North Western parts of Africa are diagnosed with Blood-Circulation Disorder or "Dead Blood Cells"

  • @isision "sickle cell disease"(drepanocitosis spanish latin) .not most of the people but it is a genetic desease that affects around 10% of the population in some areas. It is a problem in the US too around 8% of afro-american are concerned.almost every human group has specific genetic deseases that is the one of the africans.west and central africans are more concerned than eastern.there is no cure.people there have more to cope with than other indeed...

  • @asrafoo it can be prevented .you must undergo a test with your partner. In short: some people should not have kids with each other if they don't want those to suffer of that desease.Of course once you are born like that...

  • These are what the first Human Beings looked like and how they behaved. In harmony with the Divine Will.

Also, James Cameron must have been in East Africa a few years ago, and came back and got the idea of making Avatar :-)

  • Save what's left of Africa from Western rape and plunder.

  • @gigagroove I am a child of Africa. I am afraid to say it is the Africans who are now doing the raping and plundering, etc. I have lived through two wars in Africa and watched Africans hacking other Africans to death with machetes. And it is the Africans who are about to drown the Omo People behind a dam. It is all very sad.

  • @TubunMuzu

While no culture and nobody can pretend to be perfect, I would be very much surprised if the Western countries or corporations do not pull strings in this dam project

  • @both above: It's important to remember that every culture has its builders and destroyers. We can't have a near-sighted view of what is going on around us. Our worst can be instigated from within our culture as well as from without. Either way, this can only be corrected by rediscovering the truth of who we are. Who benefits from Africans hacking other Africans? Who supplies the tools of destruction; then reemerges to "pick up the pieces?" We must be more disciplined in our understanding.

  • @zoeladona Well said.

  • @TubunMuzu These images are stunning as I am sure these people still are. I appreciate your comment about the fact that it is the Africans who are doing the raping and plundering. I graduated from high school, here in Southern California, in '65 and since then involved in collecting money for Africa in many ways for many years. One day I woke up and realized that Africa has to do for itself first before others can help them. it saddens me greatly, all the sent has gone to the wrong people.

  • @TubunMuzu @TubunMuzu These images are stunning as I am sure the people are as well. I appreciate your comment about the fact that it is the Africans who are doing the raping and plundering. • @TubunMuzu aah no no no, are you serious?? they are just going to build a dam and thats it??

  • @TubunMuzu This is why white supremacy is the poison of the world. Wherever it touched, chaos, violence and death ensued.

  • @2dasimmons - Whie supermacy and supremacy of any kind is poison, yet history shows that the first mother was black . In the documentary the "First Eve" it is scientifically proven. African, Mexican, Indian the European culture has really went in and destroyed every culture, there killing the world now with television, chemtrails in the air and sea, so if they want to step up those that are good and clean up there anscestors shit then let them

  • @greensoulazalea White supremacy is an affliction unto itself and differs from other supremacies. White supremacy is VANITY; this is the INIQUITY-the 1st sin- the Creator found in lucifer (the bright/light angel deluded by and obsessed w/his beauty which he felt was greater than other angels causing him to feel entitled to more, even to play "God") and since then the Creator has created a dynamic down here on planet Earth to eliminate white supremacy. This LIFE we live is the Creator's cont'd

  • @greensoulazalea from beginning to end, as above so below, White supremacy is in every culture now due to COLONIALISM which pink/"white" people imposed on people of color. But this is by divine design and presently white supremacy continues 2 b dismantled, hence no more apartheid, no more USA slavery, colonialism, etc. W/S will be shut down @ Armageddon. Eventually a particular group of blacks, Hebrew-Israelites, will rule world from Israel. C Ezekiel 28: 11-19 & Isaiah 14:12-15 4 lucifer story.

  • @TubunMuzu You give a child a spear and he hunts, you give a child a gun and he kills and rapes.

  • @gigagroove Save the world from richous hypocrites who blame only the West. It's sadly a global plunder- all share the guilt. Own a diamond by chance?

  • @gigagroove Says the fucking idiot who's using Western technology to communicate on the internet.

  • If the photographs were paintings I would have never believed them..

  • its funny thinking how in Africa there are women who cant show their faces and must be like ghosts in the streets always accompanied with some male relative. Then there is the polar opposite of people going around naked with only paint and plants. the pictures are so surreal they look like dryads and nymphs.

  • lady gaga got nothing on them ...

  • i am now going out into my garden and pick some flowers and leaves with which to adorn myself. these beautiful people made my day :)

  • The Garden of Eden was in Ethiopia ~ this simply has to be what's left of it.

Absolutely AWESOME ~thank you for sharing.

I'm always puzzled as to why the majority of Africans refrain from smiling for a photograph, no matter how much encouraging & demonstrating is involved.

Oh! They'll laugh & even giggle beforehand & afterwards, but not during the actual 'take'.

    ~Durban~ South Africa ~

  • @annie46664 Thanks for sharing with me .....stunning. xx

  • beatifull..........

  • Wow,,,,, They are so beautiful ....... scary, but beautiful

  • @BublinackaZosady scary? you afraid some guy with flowers in his hair is going to shoot you? I don't get it.

  • @BublinackaZosady what scares and scars you????

  • I'd paint my face and put flowers in my hair too, if my only daily concern were hunting and gathering. Too bad the modern world looks down upon that.

  • @Snrk the world health organization passed a resolution to bring the African Bushman, separate tribe from these people, out of "poverty" and modernize them. I was so mad when I heard that. I'm like why can't they leave them alone?

  • I am in LOVE.

  • THIS IS AMAZING

  • beautiful people. i believe we are all born confident in ourselves until we allow the world to intrude. this is an awesome video .thnx

  • Qué maravilla!

  • Exquisite. Beautiful people. Living art. Thank you for this video.

  • wow. I can't believe how beautiful they are.

  • these people have not forgotten what it is to be human beings, nor have they lost their inner divinity. we would do well to listen to the dvine voice within these images. let us hope they are able to remain hidden from modern culture, preserved in the natural world. human beings are the most endangered species of all, and we are completely unaware of this danger. let these images serve as a reminder of the precious balace and beauty of life, and of our inner divinity.

  • Let's hope these people aren't found. They are a treasure to be left alone. Really inspiring. The music is a gracious match.

  • amazing! :D

  • my first thought is that I want to see it...then common sense kicked in to remind me that this shouldn't be a tourist attraction. It would not be right to spoil this beauty.

  • humans are made to be creative and to use and explore their surroundings. these paitnings and styling is so beautiful

  • those guys are the rural lady gaga fans :P

  • @colorz14 haha i guess their happily unaware of gaga.

  • Amazing people! Beatiful body paint...

    Increible.

  • awesome way to start my day .... thanks mindy...

  • Absolutely beautiful.

  • amaaazing!!!! beautiful

  • They are such individuals, so expressive. I love it, thank you

  • very beautiful. Some fashion designers should definately take a look at this fashion statment. All natural and oh so awesome...............

  • absolutely wonderful...these human beings are so unique, so beautiful and such an inspiration.

  • wow, they are so beautiful. To think, all these techniques must have been handed down from generations of children to their young brothers and sisters. Thousands of years, perfecting beauty and imagination. If you gave them a canvas, I wonder what worlds they would create? So imaginative, you can see the influence of the forest animals in it. Also amazing, there doesnt seem to be a concept of gay, all the children dress themselves equally elaborate.

  • Now thats what you call oganic.

  • Beautiful Body Painting

  • NICE WORK: I need to know were I can get the second part of the music, I've not founded. If some body can help, I'll glad.

    Saludos a todos : )

  • @benjaminxxx007 It's from Ryuichi Sakamoto: Alexei and the Spring.

  • This brings tears to my eyes to watch such art/beauty. It also saddens me how detached we have become from nature, earth, animals and each other. This is breathtaking imagination on film and within The Omo People's souls. Thank you for posting this.
