Unfortunately the government just took over the student loan industry. Everybody can go to school regardless of the degree. Everybody can get a degree regardless of ability to pay this debt back.

What does the market pay for a cinema arts degree? The reason you are in debt is because you were allowed to get loans. Government gauranteed loans means the ability to get into debt is easy. This easy money for school means the schools can increase the costs. Thus tuition rises. If you couldn't get the loans the degree would be cheaper. The costs of school are inflated due to "gauranteed" money.
