@captainkid1 Ah yes, I forgot that. On mine the axis lock action (locking & unlocking) is smooth and the blade is nicely stable without wobble. I read here and there that on some knives the unlocking can feel a bit rough (still largely ok for the price), but the lockup is always stable.
"Discolouring" you spotted on the mustard colored 763 is normal. Handle is ground thin there.Resulting opacity allows a metal bit from mounting mechanism to show through. Handle texture is fantastic! Axis Lock copy is "scritchy"/sloppy. The post inside the lock visibly wobbles when retracted using only 1 finger. By contrast Ganzo's version of the Axis Lock is equal in smoothness to Benchmade & SOG. SRN763 is delightful & a bargain! Earned the Order of the Lanyard at my house in record time.
@ATF6281914 I don't think it resembles the CRKT that much. It does look more like a Fallkniven TK3, for example. But still, it isn't a copy. It's a compact classic backlock folder and many of them look similar.
Look at the placement of the screws. Also, that gap between the steel and "bone" is supposed to be there. CRKT says it makes for easy cleaning after gutting an animal.
It looks a hell of a lot more like the CRKT than the TK3.
@ATF6281914 Interesting feedback about the gap. Didn't expect that it could be a feature, and come to think about it, my other SRMs are pretty well finished.
In any case, I don't think you can say this knife copies a western one.
It's quite easy to tell G10 and FRN apart, just look on the side of scale. On G10 you can see the layered fiberglass cloth, sorta similar to CF.
A little trivia, G10 stands for Garolite Grade 10 (there are other grades), and originally made for circuit boards (try break one of those if you have any scrap lying around, not easy).
Great review. I bought the 763 (sand) and the 710 a couple of weeks ago so they should be here anytime. I'll probably buy a aluminum one also since it looks so sharp. Don't much like the black G10 look on this knife.
Good review! The point may have been lost on me because, since you showed it, I've been thinking more about going out and grabbing a Duvel than I have about knives.
Ok, America has some of the best knives, china the cheapest ...but we have the best beer ! Duvel..hmmnn
And under the Navy brand they also have a spyderco endura and Native clone? Have you ever seen one? They listed as 440c with G10 scales and seem to have a strong construction and go for +- 20 euros incl. shipping. Could be great for some harder use where you would never use your original endura for???
@TheCandyrod Well, for not that much more you can have the Byrd Cara Cara G10 which is the perfect low-end Endura. Btw, I never believe that "440C" on a Chinese blade is the same as on (for example) a Böker blade. It's probably another variation of 8CR13MoV, which is decent but below well-produced 440C.
I'll discuss 3 Navy knives in an upcoming clip; but not the Spyderco clones (no intention to buy them).
@MrDagon007 i agree, probably no 440c and buying real spyderco's is the best, it's a real fantastic brand and 100% clones can not be compared with the real thing. Will buy another Endura or maybe tenacious and this SRM 763...also nice reviews !
I went to Sanrenmu dot com and looked at their knives. They have some nice looking stuff. I did not, however, see prices listed or a place to order the knives. Where did you order them from?
@NickelodeonTuber I explain in the clip that indeed, the locking mechanism of the 763 is the axis lock, like usid by Benchmade. However, in general the 763 is to my knowledge a pretty original, clever and practical EDC knife. The 785 is a more classic compact gentlemeny backlocking folder, still it's not a clone of any western knife I know.
@NickelodeonTuber When Benchmade had SRM make their Vex model they got the right to several Benchmade designs including the Axis lock so SRM stole nothing!
TU! very impressed with the 763! I recently did 2 videos on the 635 and I am looking forward to getting more of their models.

Hi, I wish you showed and commented more on the Axis lock action.
How smooth it is and also if there is blade wobble.

The 785 looks just like my Kommer 30-30. I'd say it's a copy of the CRKT.
