  • It's MICRO fracturing though, not beating yourself with an aluminum bat until you hear or feel something crack. You basically shouldn't feel your bones breaking, micofracturing should feel more like kinda bruising your bones. You can also microfracture your bones by weight lifting. So do both, over many many years, and you WILL be Iron Man in your old age. That's why older kung fu masters like Mr Miyagi kick so much ass. Fighting is more about hardened bones and speed, not muscle and strength.

  • @NeutralArtist94 flex throat, always breathe, focus energy on throat area, start hitting, i suggest hitting very very lighting and hit the sides of your throat and sides of neck, try not to hit your throat straight on at first, you can move up to that after a while,.... hit lightly

  • Iron Chi-Gung was contrived long before people understood internal medicine and human physiology. Iron body training as an adult is meaningless as the bones will be unable to produce the calcium and other minerals necessary to grow thicker. All in all, you're just deadening your nerves to no real advantage other to be able to bypass intense or distracting pain during combat. Children, who are still developing, benefit BIGTIME from Iron Body, however.

  • That is not true. You don't get iron body from "thickening bones" you get it from the increased density that comes from the continued striking for one and then from the increased chi that is generated from the striking and the mind leading chi to that part of the body. The act of striking itself stimulates extra bone growth, but it's the density increase that does it. I know people in their 60's that are still practicing Iron body and have FULL iron body, break bricks with fingertips, etc

  • Iron skills are not just about hardening muscles, but bone as well. And I have seen a demonstration of the iron teeth skill. A shaolin picked up a table with four cups of tea and the pitcher of tea still on it with just his teeth and carried it to the ones being served the tea that way. Didn't spill a drop, and the table stayed completely level the whole time. XD

  • You'll be surprised to know that I, like everyone else on the internet, can use a search engine! That means it takes about 15 seconds to prove you wrong with absolutely no effort. The guy trained at the actual Shaolin temple and is an actual monk with the Abbot's blessing.

    I never claimed you can learn the shaolin arts from watching training videos. You don't have to make things up to argue with, I already disagreed with you remember?

  • Real Shaolin did not die out long ago. The temple still exists in China and training still happens there.

  • Real Shaolin arts did not die out they only came to North America. You can get the best ot the Shaolin arts in New York City and various Chinatowns around the country. You do not have to go to China to get the best as it is here in the United States. That is why you see the real fighting art Sifu's opening up schools in Mainland China.

  • Yes, the shaolin have been branching out. I know of the school you mean in New York City. There is also one in California. There are temples in brazil, mexico, and other countries as well. The main temple is in China and has been since the year 477(AD).

  • Frank Yee's Hung Gar now has a school in Mainland China. Shaolin never died out as the sifu's moved to different parts of the world.

  • I know they never died out. I was just telling you in my other comment that the temple in china is still active. It has been destroyed and rebuilt throughout the centuries but Shaolin are still trained there. And, yes, I also know that the masters(shifu) have been sent to other countries to open new schools and eventually build new temples in those countries. I am agreeing with you. XD

  • The type of exercise he is demonstrating is pretty stupid, because shoalin monks dont go hitting themselves, however they do do a range of exercises which involve them to hit parts of their bodies repeatedly. Eg hitting their head on sand bags, punching concrete walls etc. The exercise he demonstrated is stupid but it doesnt mean he doesnt know nothing. For all you know he could be a monk that got kicked out of shaolin school lol :P.

  • basically by what im getting from it, inorder to increase the power of your body it must undergo some kind of trauma, by eg hitting parts of it. How you do it is all up to you. Like would you prefer him to tell you to go smash a stick on your head or arm or to hit yourself. You are far more likely to suffer injury by getting hit by something than by hitting yourself.

  • its not taking lessons, its seeing a few of the things he does and using some moves and not using some moves. Plus actually taking shaolin kungfu properly will require you to go to china and join one of the schools there and be able to speak chinese in the first place. so calling me a pove really doesnt make me feel all that bad in this case lol.   • every 2 years i'm pretty sure they open there doors to some experienced martial artists who have been doing kung fu their whole lives to come and train like they do for 1 month or two months in the summer.

    Very hard training, if you can't keep up your pretty much left behind, intense.

    No, thats not exactly how the Iron Shirt works. You have to get used to the pain and and problems that getting hit in the stomach creates, so it wont hurt when it actually happens.

    You should go to the bookstore and the the chapter of American Shaolin "Iron Crotch". He meets a guy that hits his manliness for 30 minutes in the morning. His name was monk Dong, and he could pull a 500lb roller with his manliness. Mm.
