I remember getting this game for Christmas of 2002. This song in particular just sends a torrent of memories back to me, running around in Hollow Bastion while the sun outside set against the snow on the ground.

Kind of hard to believe it's getting close to a decade since the first game came out.

Before you read this, I would like to let you know I am not jealous, but how can someone produce such beautiful songs? How can they magically make them more appealing and majestic to every touch of the key? WTH! I don't want to be a composer but I want to a write a piece for fun. Though I can't think of anything. This song doesn't just remind me of kingdom hearts but of the memories I've shared with people close to me. This song has a bit of sadness to it but then it also makes you smile. This Piano Collection is full of passion and I'm just grateful that I can hear the beauty in it and maybe shed a few tears. Thank you Yoko Shimomura and thank you for uploading.

I don't agree with the comments that this song needs to be slower; I think it portrays Kairi's character very well at the speed it's at. She's not a very sad, depressed character, so a quicker tempo is needed. Also, this is about the same tempo as Kairi's original theme.

Plus, I think it sounds beautiful and perfect at the speed it's at. ;)

I'm not a big fan of the recording for this song, and here's why: WAY too fast! The emotional value gives so much more when it's slower, and the speed at which this song is played takes away from the peacefulness and gracefulness. Still an amazing song though, it just sounds better when it's played at a slower tempo :)

I agree with you, I think at the tempo it's recorded at it needs more force, more depth, and when you play it a bit slower with a little pedal it sounds a lot more intense.

I've been trying to find similarities between kingdom hearts and the cover to the piano music, and i found that theres a bottle with a message in it, a chain, and the picture begins to lose color from left to right. Ok, so maybe only the bottle relates to kingdom hearts, but i think they meant something by the color change...

Well, the easiest one is Dearly Beloved. Not the Concert Paraphrase, but the actual Dearly Beloved.

Don't put yourself down, keep practicing and you'll be able to play all of the pieces beautifully. =)

The Square Enix produced piano collections are notorious for being VEEERY difficult =) even for advanced players, it takes quite a lot of practice to be able to play the songs. I would recommend learning the NON-piano collections versions of dearly beloved, roxas theme, and xion theme for starters. there are plenty of instructional videos on youtube. good luck =)
