Locking the doors is a FIRE CODE VIOLATION. Court security is putting those in the courtroom in danger. Instead of wanting to record court proceedings, simply state that you are documenting possible fire code transgressions.

when a judge says, "get out with your cam". You get out with you cam. if you stand and argue at the oredr of a judge you should be arrested. Given 30 days at hard labor. In my field, I have to take continuing education credits to remain licensed. I think that police officers and judges should have to do the same - take a certain number of hours of continuing education on the US and state constitutions they swore to uphold, that way they will remember what they say. Maybe they should actually have to re-take their oath of office every year as well. That would be a good bill to propose.
Ian and Sam do make good arguments, however, it seems to me that the only place those arguments may be effective is in front of a judge at a civil rights trial for violation of their rights to freedom of the press.
