£899.. originally went out to buy a Gibson, but saw these, and when I tested it against the Gibson, it won hands down on everything, so I bought this instead, and saved some cash in the process!!
But alsol you have to remember there were blank spaces in those years that I played, I am currently going through one of those phases right now, I haven't even took any of my guitars out of their cases for over 4 months now, and in the 15 years I have plyed there were gaps of around 4 years when I never even touched a guitar, and I am also very lazy so learning stuff is a task for me!!!!
Sounds fucking great man, i have my imac up but micing my marshall dsl with a samson usb condenser... found your vid lookin for garageband ezdrummer stuff =)
You do really well to go high up the neck on that les paul..
I always fuck it up when its anything past the 15th..
Les Pauls do rule though, for for crunch & sustain i can't imagine using anything else, it always feels like i'm gonna break some of the thinner/lighter types of guitar..
Thanks man, I really need to get on the case and get some new videos, because I made this one about 2 years ago now, and I personally think my playing has improved a little bit since making this video...
I have had a lot of shit going on in my life at the moment and that's why I haven't had the chance to make any new videos, I will get on the case soon because I want to start using my new Line 6 POD X3 Live Floor Pedal, it is a Tone Monster!!!
Thanks man, with practice you can become better than me, I should be way better than I am, I have been playing on and off for 14 years, I have just been really lazy when it comes to learning!
I went to music college for a while, and there was guys there that had only been playing for like 3 to 5 years and they had really amazing chops, it used to make me really envious sometimes!!!
well despite what you say i still feel that you are incredibly talented. i plan on going to a music college to. ive only been playing guitar for 5 months but i play 7 hours a day lol.
ive cant afford lessons but i am constantly watching videos and reading about new ways to play. i cant afford lessons yet i play on a gibson 2005 flying V (not mine obviously).
I never took a single lesson until I had been playing for 12 years, and the only reason I took those lessons was because it was a part of the music course I attended at college, but when the guitar teacher first heard me play he told me to go home!
I started at the very beginning course introduction to music studies, that starts off at Grade 1 up to Grade 3, and the guitar teacher told me that I shouldn't even be on that course!
The lessons mostly comprised of me showing him stuff instead!!
lol that is impressive. all i did was pick up my brother in laws cheap yamaha and just teach myself everything. i immediately grew attached to playing it though because i automatically had a grasp on what i was doing.
but your teacher was right. dont think you need a course. what impressed me the most was that little sweep move you threw in there at 1:41. ive yet to try sweeping. i need more practice with everything else. at the moment im studying the penatonic skill which is just a thrill.
That sweep is a very simple A minor arpeggio shape that was actually one of the very first sweeping lick that I learnt, I also tap on the 20th fret on the High E string to on the last note going down the arpeggio to give it a cooler sound, the difficult thing I found when first learning how to sweep pick, was trying to incorporate them into your own solos, I can do it now, but it took me long enough!!!
when i showed my brother your video thats one of the things he pointed out, he spoke how not just was it the sweeping that was good it was the fact that you incorporated it into the song you were improvising.
Thanks man, I just got myself a lovely new toy today, I got the Line 6 POD X3 Live amp emulation floor pedal, it is a BEAST, an absolute tone monster, so I will get some new videos on my channel real soon, I am just reading through the manual right now to get a better understanding of the pedal, but I tested it out running it through my Marshall JCM 2000TSL 100w half stack, with the amp on the clean channel, and just went through some of the pre-sets and they sound absolutely fantastic!
Won't be long before I have some more videos up, just need to get working on some backing tracks!!!
I won't post covers, there are to many guitarists already doing that here on You Tube, and I don't want to cover a song that's been covered many times already by other players, so it will only ever be original instrumentals that I record and upload.
Thanks man, that means a lot to me coming from an awesome player like you ocrue!!!
This was done about 2 years ago, and I have put in a lot of practise since recording this, I don't want to do any covers, as I feel that there are already to many guitarists doing cover songs on here, I don't mean that as a bad thing, I just don't want to be another covers player, I only want to post my own stuff up on here, I thought about uploading some covers but I decided against that...
I am not taking any offence to what you say, I just wasn't sure what you meant by them sounding weird, that lead was completely improvised (apart from the melody I keep going back to, or play different inversions of from time to time) so that's probably why things sound off from time to time??
They feel like your getting a head of yourself which it totally understandable, but I'm not much a person to slide on anything other than an acoustic, but still its just hard to say whats weird about it.
I don't know, I thought it sounded fine enough for a single take, that's why I kept it, I can't really hear what you are hearing... but I don't mind the constructive criticism, I can handle that!!!!
Thanks man, I will have some new stuff up soon (this was from like two years ago) I just need to get a decent sounding bass guitar plug in so that I can use my keyboard to play the bass lines for my backing tracks as I really think a track needs bass in there for it to sound good...
very good and clean. I dont think you should hold back on the fast sections though. With practice those fast bits can be just as clean as the slow bits. great tune
Thanks a lot man, like I said, the entire lead section was all improvised, the little melody that I keep going back to was pre written, but everything else was just made up on the spot..
Thanks for the comments though man, I will have more videos up real soon, I either need to get some decent sounding Bass plugins that I can use my midi keyboard to record bass lines, or I pick up a cheap bass, as I hate tracks that don't have bass in them, you don't know of any decent plug ins do you?
not reali. most of them are quite expencive the boss dr 550 i think it is has a bass built in. bif you gonna get somit like that always get a boss or digitech there ur best bet.
On and off 14 years, there were periods of like a couple years where I never touched a guitar, I went through this twice, there was just to much other shit going on in my life that I didn't have time for guitar, I would say that I have probably played for about 7 to 9 years in total, but off and on. It was actually plugins that I was enquiring about, that I could trigger with my m audio owygen8 v2 midi keyboard...
Work on your vibrato, otherwise, good :)
