I always loved the section starting at 2:57. Man, listening this album again makes me think about all kindsa things. I bought this CD in 1990 around the time I turned 16. I had been playing guitar for 2 years and was about to start bass. Man, I can't tell you how many licks and riffs I've taken from this album. I'm 36 now and it STILL blows my mind!
When Miles died in September 1991, WKCR 89.9 FM (NYC) did a three day Miles tribute in honor of his life and they played music from all the periods of his career (though less from the 80's).
My roommate and I had all the stereos/boom-boxes in the house (both of our bedrooms, living room and even in the kitchen) tuned in for the entirety of the broadcast, night and day.
I loved all the music, but I became OBSESSED with the 70's era and nicknamed it his "Voodoo Jazz" period.
