Well, the answer as to why we care about the vice president is that in recent years the vice president has become more powerful than I believe was anticipated by our founding fathers. So he or she is now more than just a guy/girl sitting on the bench waiting for the president to die.

You are more likely to have Russian friends as well. I paid far less attention to news from Germany or Italy than I did about Russia, Japan and China. I had far more contact with people from those countries too, like my professors.

Actually living next to Russia helps you pay attention in history class when they talk about Russia. Also, you pay attention to the news a whole lot more. You are more likely to have Russian friends as well. I paid far less attention to news from Germany or Italy than I did about Russia, Japan and China. I had far more contact with people from those countries too, like my professors.

Contact gives a better understanding of the people and lets you find out what is going on inside the country, which would affect your negotiations. It should also be noted Russia is a major trading partner with Alaska.

I volunteer for a homeless shelter. You would be surprised how many people can't afford food in this country.
Plus donations have been down due to economic downturn so it is getting harder. If it wasn't for the generousity of grocery stores that donate product and old breads I don't know how we'd manage.

DUH! He doesn't pretend to be anything else. It's not like he's fox news, pretending to be fair and balanced. If you asked him, he'd tell you it's a liberal show and he is a liberal. It's not a bias. It's not a news show. It's satire. It's hilarious. Get over it.

Is Obama the AntiChrist ? AntiChrist is suppose to be middle age man, a man with a great message, a man that the masses will follow. He is suppose to be a great unifier of rich and poor, of black and white, of all cultures. He is suppose to be passive as a sheep - which obama is, but a wolf on the inside. I am an atheïst too, and I know it is wrong to forbid a woman to be in charge of her own body.
I am not saying abortion is right or wrong, but I am certainly saying it is wrong to deny women in America (or anywhere else for that matter) the freedom of choice.
And Palin's view about incest and rape, and not having the right to have an abortion, is just sick and should scare the crap out of every sane woman in America.

I agree totally. It's our responsibility to hammer this point home to people. You & I & many others would agree that voting against Palin/McCain is a MORAL imperative. I respect people's convictions on abortion, but it seems like very few people actually think through what the implications of a 'pro-life' stance would be: it would turn back the clock to the dark ages for this country & there's NO WAY that it would reduce human misery & suffering. & what an invasion of privacy! Can you imagine?
