"the guy's a real porker" In real life Barne's nickname was 'Piggy'. Barnes was involved in the first 'high-tech' football cheating scandal. He played for LSU and was using binoculars, camera etc to spy on Uni of Oklahoma practice and got caught. Played for Philadelphia Eagles in pro football and was a weight lifting champion. He also coached college football. Guy had an interesting life.

@bieberMAN93 Perhaps Philo knew that Tanks days were numbered, and he saw how fast your 'so called fans' can turn on you. And he felt sorry for the 'old man'. Philo knew that this was probably Tanks last fight and Philo had many more in him(Philo).

@sosidecop64 ..I think it was that Philo didnt want to be know as the "new Tank Murdock" or the "guy that beat Tank Murdock"....fights would be harder to get, the action would be less and he may even have had to lay odds...

great film this from clint eastwood and great to see walter barnes who was in many spaghetti western remember him in sergio sollimas the big gindown with lee van cleef and high plains drifter as the sheriff and also he was good freinds with lex barker and was in winnetto films with barker.
