Great performance, and I love that song. The only thing I'd say is that in the middle part, under "myself to you", I think you are playing F#m on "you" where the original used an A7 over a G root.

I'd love to hear you sing "She's The Only One". It's a lesser known song but another that works well with single voice and acoustic guitar. Well quite a few of the Bread songs do. The quality of the songs allows a wide range of possible arrangements without losing what they're about.

Yes, I played it differently than the record on this recording. On the word "you" the original version has an A7 (not over a G root, just a standard A7). Many of my recordings have differences from the originals, mostly because I don't play by memory. I am listening to the song as I am performing it and what I hear determines which chords I play on any given day. I didn't consciously attempt to change the song. I just heard it differently on this play-through.

Fair enough, and I think that's true, there's no G root on the rhythm guitar but I think there is on the bass guitar. If I am playing, just me on guitar and no bass player, I tend to reflect such things by adding a bass note if it seems important to the run of chords and melody. Obviously not everything from a band performance can be kept in when it's one person so the debate always becomes what to leave out...I think with David Gates songs you can leave a lot out without losing too much.

I think you might be referring to the chord in the change which occurs on the word "you" and "known." Though in the original recording Daivid plays an A7... I play an F#m.
