  • that was just awesome thanks for your tutorial.I 've always want it to try this hobbies.

  • Ok ---- couldn't stand it any more --- went out yesterday (in a snow storm) to the woodcraft store and got one --- looking forward to giving it a try !!

  • It that Matt from Matt's Basement Workshop? (Voice over only) :)

  • Yes, it is Matt.

  • I like it --- how long did it take to make the ship? Not that I'd ever get that good . But this could be a good alternative to a Carvwrite !

  • Honestly, I don't think there is anyone around today that can answer your question about the ship that was carved with this product. The ship was made decades ago by one of the original designers of this product. Though, we still have the carving and it is amazing... To say the carver had a lot of experience with this tool is an understatement!

  • @milescraft Hey thanks for the quick come back! I thought about this after I hit the "post Comment" and realized this would not only be based on personal experience but the amount of time some would have to put into the project. I have to say I see some real possibilties for the Pantograph . not just for sign making -- what about a design on a center rail for a four or six panel door ? -- Or the face on a fireplace mantel. I'm running out of letters here, but I bet someone creative could

  • That is the nice thing about this product, the flexibility to simply follow along a stencil allows you to consider a wide variety of projects. The main limitation is that this product is a reducer and cannot do 1 to 1 tracing/carving

  • How far from the edge do you attach the triangular piviot?

  • Technically, there is no set dimension from the edge, its all a function of your setup.

When you are routing with this jig, the keys are:

1.) The corners of the jig to be at 90 degrees

2.) The triangular pivot, router bit, and stylus bolt need to be exactly inline with each other

When these 2 items are in place, make sure the router is over the center of the work piece and the stylus is over the center of the stencil and you won't have any problems regardless of where the workbench edge is.

  • Wow, i have no idea that my router could do that, i wanna try it jajajaja
