Awsome!! I really hope you guyes who are writing all this crap about him, cold see this video clip one more time, and TRY to REALLY LISTEN to what they have to say about the proteses and that it is NOT making him ANY KIND of advances and he is neither getting any special-treatment when he is competing, so peep`s, let`s face it: neither can any of you run faster than him!! ;) Jealous people ya`ll are, and very discriminating!! :))
This guy is one hell of an athlete, that's for sure.
I think the discrimination arguers are missing the real meat, though. The real question we should be asking is "What happens when somebody makes an even better foot for him? Do we allow that?"
I think even a fat guy can see that you have watched to much pokey mon, - thinking you can do a 400m in 46sec flat,,, -- idiot, it's that true why aren't you out there running?
Those bow shaped legs are a great advantage and they give you the power to glide and bounce !! DA AA ITS VERY CLEAR !!
Legs can't do that bounce and spring you forward at the same motion Stupid poeple say what is the truth always don't just side with him because you feel sorry for him !!
It is unfare for the runners that have real shounts and muscle cramps at each race that give out trying to race this guys spring legzzz !!
Be honest yourself. I am sure it is a lot more difficult to run on two strips of metal than it is to run with a stable leg with strengthened muscles and tendons. And where do you see a big bounce in his step? Real legs have a built in bounce in order to absorb the force from each step, so it is pretty much the same thing. Why don't you watch the video and listen to the experts before you make assumptions that he glides and springs up with these fake legs.
and those blades have been around for 15 years and no-one who uses them has EVER achieved close to what he has. they're not new technology - it's an incredibly hardworking and talented athlete's dedication that determined his achievements, not the blades.
its like hes running on stilts. the part of the blade that touches the ground is so small. he lacks the support of a full sized foot and he lacks the muscle and control that comes with it.
so basically, while i think it shouldnt be all that damn hard to get some physicists to test it out, in the meantime, dont be such FUCKING IGNORANT SELFISH HATERS!
Funny thing about the artificial legs being used as springs. Breaking a record by a few meters is one thing but, when your breaking records by 17 meters. Dont get me worng all the props in the world to this guy but isnt it possible that the artificial legs are working better than real legs. Human legs havent evolved for high speed running but theses blades were built for the sole purpose of track athletes... its worth thinking about.
Ive Seen Da doumentry,, and he is da onli person 2 get faster the further he runs,, and he is psyically superhuman due to da fact that he had 2 use his upperbody more in his childhood.
Merriam-Webster defines able bodied as "having a sound strong body." He is therefore able-bodied. So the report is politically incorrect and worse discriminatory. Please correct your reporting.
If we are going to view it the other way, those athletes in the same competition with natural legs/feet ("able-bodied" in this case is discriminatory) are being discriminated by being pitted against somebody who is, though equally deserving as them to win in a fair contest, "technically" equipped with an artificial leg. It's like a car racing where all cars have four wheels except for one car which has three.
However, the more rational or logical part of me dictates that he is really not in the same league with the others with natural feet or legs. It should not be viewed as discrimination because he is not being discriminated.
I commend and support the fighting spirit. He truly is an inspiration and a beacon of light to those physically challenged. His story should be told and his example should be emulated.
look at the good side! he will never feel the pain of some1 kicking him in the shin

I imagine he has a slight advantage over the others.
1. Missing two limbs, more blood can circulate faster thus more oxygen to his muscles. He's also slightly lighter and more aerodynamic.
2. With the curve on his prostethic limbs, there's a slight spring that would push him forward making him run faster and take larger strides.
Big ups to him for being a champ regardless of his mobility...but I think he should race against other with the same disability.
It seems more fair to me...
