Syesha seems totally in her element for this. I was so hoping she'd go to Musical Theatre after Idol, and I'm so glad she did. She looks and sounds fabulous in this. I hope I get to see it when it hits LA.
I think you should see it first and then make that call. But if I were to answer that question, I'd say both. Put the two words together & you got a MUSICAL...Right? Dreamgirls is a musical, isn't it.

No, I'm not judging off of just this...but tbh with,you pretty can. They only paid attention to the performance part of the show and not the acting(YOU CAN TELL!)

Thats what the flippin play is about. People trying to make it big. There are many plays with just music, I guess thats a performance to.....you really don't know much about theatre then
What are you talking about? My comment wasn't about Dreamgirls,but just this Dreamgirls. And yes,there's a difference between a "musical" and something that just looks like a live-acting concert. This version cared more about the look of the play,than the acting. None of the Dreams are believable in there parts(singing or acting). And like I said before MB is prob flipping over in his grave now.
I can't say enough how excited I am to this. These clips just made the anticipation much more higher.
And for the first 10 seconds I thought this was Beyonce's version, not paying much attention to the music at first, but I'm like Oh crap, its Syesha!!!! I love it!

No,a musical is play with music...this is a live concert. There is little acting done in this "show".

Ok, have you seen it before? In most musicals, the usually only show "musical numbers". You can't judge it until you see they PLAY!!
