i started off with just an m box(protools) and a laptop and 460$ got me the rest of the things i needed to start recording...alesis 320 usb speakers, at2020 xlr mic, m audio keyrig 49 midi keyboard and akai lpd8 pad (for drums and samples), mic stand that came with xlr cord), pop filter, fl studio, and some great headphones. sure i would love the most expesive studio in the world just because but you really dont need to spend too much money for good quality. its all on you and your mixing.
I got a question... when you bought ur midi keyboard from ebay... did u buy it because u jus needed what ever at the time jus to try out ur software such as fruity loops.. or did u hear that that keyboard was good & on sale at ebay...???? jus wondering cuz i use fruity loops studio 10.. & well I hate not having a tools..I use my laptop touch mouse.. so I cnt really play nothing.. i love ur videos.. keep posting em up.. ive seen ur other videos, & ur straight talk!!!!!! keep it up...
Do NOT buy RadioShack mic cords! Cheap has no place in studio equipment. You DO "have to spend an arm and a leg". The EMU and Akai are good but there needs to be some serious upgrading for decent quality. Upgrade the mic (this is the most important piece in a studio) and never buy anything but Mogami or Blue XLRs. Monster is the only acceptable exception if you're tight on money
@DeadlyMixKrew Appreciate the insight once again, sad part is...not everyone can start out affording mogami gold/silver and expensive mics (even at the 200 dollar rate)...whats affordable to us for music..isnt affordable to someone who is just trying it out, to see if its something they really want to get into....it does take an arm and a leg for great quality...this video is for them, all my equipment has been recently updated, new video coming shortly.....Thanks for watching
@MissTdancechamp MONEY DONT GROW ON TREEZ!!!! so this video right here right now..im loven it... THANK YOU MISS TDANCECHAMP!!!!.. @at deadlymixkrew,yo thanx for the heads up aswell,,,
@theclaysinger no, i will prolly be giving it to my nephew when he decides to get serious about his music :)...he is only 8 --but he loves it alreadyyy
Lol'z alot ofthings you don't know about, kHz lucky you got your shit up, cause I'm tringbto learn my stuff cause I just started a show and next years show is gonna need music, so I'm learning im struggling to get samples tho
@MissTdancechamp ProTools is good.........But have you ever used Sonar 7, Sonar 8, or Sonar X1 or Fruity Loops or GarageBand? How about Samson G-Track Mics? Ever used them? BTW, nice studio setup you have there!
thanks for the info been thinkin bout starting me alil studio...im nineteen and focused on doing it i got a spare room and everything in my house im doing allot of research thanks for the info!!
great job sis, but you gotta know, you have tracking power right there on your desktop, if you like the sound you get in that room, try skipping the studio trip and import your tracks to protools from whatever source you have. you can mix and dub right there at your desk. vocals you got down already...keep up the good work :)
that mic isnt 130 its given away free with most interfaces and if anything will sell for 40 - 90 but anything more than free is asking too much. good starter mic though.

Hello how are you? I just bought the mxl 990 microphone I haven't been able to use it yet cause I need help getting access through it on pro tools can you help me?
Question about the mm6. I have one and I'm trying to use it as a midi controller, but I can't get the drivers to download/ connect to daw. I'm using vista and my daw at the moment is fl studio. if you looking to upgrade your monitors i would suggest some KRK Rokit 5's, Yamaha HS50's or some Makie MR5's. but you know the real answer to thit is go to your local shop and listen to different monitors and see what you like best. i just got me an external drive also. im thinking about getting Native Instruments Maschine. it's been really catching my eye.
not bad for a cheap simple studio. keep up the good work. I would recommend a better microphone. I personally love the the Rode NT2-A. and maybe a better interface. But all in all you have a great start!!!
@MusicWavesMan thanks...i try to keep it simple...since my location is in a dorm at the time...when i move back home...i will have a full studio hookup..new interface..better mic ..whole shabang!!...thanks for watching and commenting..please subscribe if you havent already
