Sorry but AVG sucks. It has a bad detection rate and has a bad reputation for giving FALSE POSITIVES. Go to any site that ranks AVs and it usually is at the bottom of the list.

Those are great freeware. I use the 7 programs in your list; Virtual Dub, VLC, Audacity, Camstudio, GIMP, AVG, and Open Office

By the way, you don't have a file converter program listed there? I guess GIMP, Audacity, VirtualDub can do some formatting but they're more like editors. Thing is, I found this cool freeware called "Format Factory" (just google it). It supports many media file formats for video, audio, image, and cd image.. so maybe you can try it and then review it.

You can use Comodo. You don't have to change to ZoneAlarm.

I don't use an apart firewall software myself, cause I prefer one program that contains antivirus, anti-spyware, a firewall etc. Cause that saves a lot of CPU usage. But anyway, for example: when you're using AVG free with Comodo firewall is safe too. So you don't have to worry.
