Song is still epic to this day. I absolutely loved the composition of the music, and was actually the song that pushed Yoko Kanno into my top favorite artists list. I didn't even really care for Japanese music back then, but hearing the soundtrack to this series just blew my mind

I admit I got little choked up when Guld became a martyr for his friends. He proved that some bonds can never be broken and paid the price for his sins and went out a hero. I'd love to see a modern remake, same cast XD

I hired Macross Plus on vhs when it first came out. I was surprised at how many people didn't know anything about it. It felt like I was the only one who watched this stuff. I was able to watch parts 1,2,3 but 4 never came out where I was. Freakin' great character developement for a cartoon/movie!

If he was BARELY able to keep up with the Ghost X9, how would you have expected him to evade the machine? It would have killed him. Simply because his body wasn't able to withstand the extreme g-forces for long. If he had been chased, he would have been under the same g-forces, and would have died anyway, without stopping the plane.

I agree with you! He was hero until the end. Guld Bouman's final Flight is incredible. The scene of larger impact in Macross Plus. His death, although sad, it is really inspiring. He was faster than the death and more perfect than Ghost X9.
