  • I like this version because it sounds more Acapella than Neil Diamond, But I Still like the Neil Diamond cover more.

  • A fantastic video and exquisitely sung by the Everlys. They really are sheer perfection. I totally agree.

  • THANKS for getting this out on YouTube. THANKS to BEAR FAMILY for FINALLY getting this one out on one of their FANTASTC Everly Brothers CD box sets.

  • Nice Version.....But listen to the Best Version...by ARTHUR ALEXANDER

  • Trying to trace which CD this is on.Can anyone help please

  • beautiful song i love the voices of don and phil it makes so warm around my heart when they´re singing!!!!!!!!!! and you need to know i was not born as they were stars i´m only 23!!!!!!!!

  • beautiful voices by the everly bros i love their voices i have always tears in my eyes

  • Great stuff guys. You're the best.

  • Just listened to Scott Walker's cover...it's beautiful, too. The Everly Brothers speak to my heart so I guess that's why I prefer their version...but I can see why some love Scott's singing.

  • I can hardly believe the beauty of this harmony...and the emotion put into it. It should have been a million-seller.

  • i loved Neil Diamonds original version---but hated the "corny" keyboard sound--which I have to admit was a British innovation| I have Gene Pitney album which features the same sound.Very sad when you consider Gene had his own full sized band of seventeen players at the age of 19yrs

  • @lejeune1945

Sounds great, but I much prefer the Scott Walker version, sublime!

  • there are people in the record industry who should be shot! Imagine this track put to a film and the resulting record sales! Any of you guys know where I can buy this, I thought I had most of EBs tracks

  • I believe it's only available in the pricey, "Chained To A Memory" , boxed set of cds from Bear Family.

  • @AGibsonJ

Would you know if this is now on another cd

    Thanks

    Roger

  • @walkerbarnetthill, according to Rodger Dunn's discography, it's only on the "Chained To A Memory" , boxed set from the Bear Family. [Warners sometimes mixes these songs on compilation cds but I haven't seen it yet!]

  • @lejeune1945 : I agree wholeheartedly with your comment.....Is this not a wonderful rendition? Every syllable a harmonic piece of perfection!

  • Brilliant cover, you can't do a song more justice than this.

  • Voted ***** , as a everlys fan and as always !

  • great rendition! wonder why this was never put on record.

    greetings from holland

  • Stunning!

Almost as good as Diamond's simple version.

  • Lovely rendition, just what I've come to expect from the Everlys. More of a solo song, but don't they cover it beautifully?!

  • never realised they covered it--great diamond song

  • A nice version of this song. The harmony is really terrific.

  • Really wonderful!

  • Beautifully sung. Thanks for sharing this rare recording. Surprised it took 33 years before it was released.

  • YOU TRUELY HAVE AN EAR FOR MUSIC

  • Thanks! So do you.

  • According to session notes, when the Everlys were in the studio recording, Lenny W. wasn't sure where to go with this song, and an attempt was made to make the arrangements more uptempo.

  • Chiselnyc 8 mos. ago: Whatever they did, it came out perfect. Every time I listen to this, I hear something new in it that I like.

  • Me too. I love the way the Everlys sing this song.

  • I just listened to this song again. I love this version. Thank you for sending it to me.

  • Great rendition by the Everly Brothers of this wonderful song by Neil Diamond. Don't know where you found it but thanks for the post.

  • ....this is a gem....love this...they did an excellent job....Neil must have been proud....thanks so much hannie....

  • Rock1945, wonderful...terrific Everly song and perfect video!!!

  • "Glory Road" was recorded by the Everlys in 1969, but wasn't released until 2006. You have to buy "Chained To A Memory," a boxed set to get it.

  • How sad. Such a beautiful and meaningful song to wait 43 years to be played. Amazing! The lyrics still apply to our time after all those years.

  • Great recording! I'm sure Neil was glad to have one of his favorite recording acts record one of his songs. What album(s) is this on? Incidentally, I have been looking for a version of this song by Richard Mainegra that I heard briefly on the radio in the early 1970s.
