  • if you really want to treasure it, get it printing in 3d, i think a company called shapeways does it in high quality :)

    awesome model btw :P

  • looks a bit like Arnold's Grandad from Hey Arnold!

  • Flying eyebrows :D nice

  • is maya free ?

  • @insectinoid No, it costs $15.000,-

  • The modeling programs you can use for this is 3Ds Max or Maya. You can get trial versions of them which only last around 30 days. You cannot uninstall it and re install it to reload a new key. It recognizes your system. You will probably have to buy the program which costs 4k. Good luck

  • great work but one question ... how much time you were spending to do this character???..... cuz' tis is not simple .... :D

  • Great !!!!

  • i love this what program did you use to make it please send a link

  • wowwww :X I teach how to work with this program I think you worked hardley. nice:d

  • cool but wtf eye brows

  • Great work as always.

  • Wonderful work!

Did you model this character the way we see it or first you modeled it standing after which you rigged it?

  • @AlexanderrrL I modeled it it a neutral T-pose and then posed him

  • @squirc oyee como ases para que sebea como una caricatura como la foto dela isquierda

  • @squirc oyee como ases para que sebea como una caricatura como la foto dela isquierda xdxd

  • lol his eye brows are floating over his head :D

  • Nice model and presentation too! Could you tell me your technique in Maya how you overlayed the wireframe so cleanly?

  • @rodneybrett Thanks! I made the wireframes by rendering out a playblast in Maya of the same camera work as the renders, but with just the wires turned on. I hope that makes sense. Then I overlayed the two in aftereffects and used Multiply as the blending mode so that the white background would go transparent and the black wires would be visible.

  • @squirc Ahh, thanks. Makes sense.

  • So cool!

What do you do for a living?

  • @Goneusf Thanks, Gonesuf. I teach 3D modeling and do freelance 3D projects for a living.

  • @squirc I want to do that! do you make good money?

  • i like

  • rig that sucker up and animate it! :D

  • No joke. That looks JUST LIKE my Grandfather!

  • @SEspider if he looks like ur grandfather mthen if i ever saw him id run

  • excellent character!

  • coo job. Guess you had to rig him to pose him and simulate his cloth wrinkles?

  • @Cglordjim Correct. However, after the posing and the simulated cloth, there was a lot of tweaking to make it all look right

  • what renderer did you use here? mental ray or renderman?

  • @mjeffdema I used mental ray.

  • @squirc awesome.. :)

  • wow +
