SILVERFISH!. Saw them a few times. I remember we see them at the Marquee in London and my mate broke his collar bone after hitting the floor from a poor stage dive lol.
loved the whole early 90's noise scene. these guys, early therapy?, fudge tunnel, loveblobs, headlcleaner etc.
Silverfish supporting Fugazi at Brixton Fridge in 1991..or '92 not sure of date but remember gig like it was yesterday - what a great upload,btw..cheers!
@ritaritaki2 yeah I think it was early 1992 - I think Headbutt were supporting, maybe Fudge Tunnel too - Saw them too many times and things are a bit blurry!
its a bloke called bingo in the suit, a fucking nutter! he`s the same lad that used to dress up in metal plates at headcleaner shows and use an angle grinder on himself!!!Still, he got songs by snuff and headcleaner named in his honour. I remember seeing headcleaner supporting tad at the cambridge junction and he set the whole stage on fire!even tad said he was shit scared of him!
Oh yes. Oh yes. Ohhh yes. My amplifier is more powerful than I thought, my ears hurt now. The only thing that's missing is flailing dreads and combat boots.
I grew up just too late to be old enough to go and see Silverfish and Th' Faith Healers live - buggeration and goddammitude
ummm, Silverfish were around way before; neither the Camden scene in the late 80s/early 90s, nor the Seattle scene of the same time, can be reduced to a measure of how much they sound like Nirvana - Nirvana made it big by accident, Lesley Rankine is in every way the equal of Kurt (who was a junkie fucktard, by many accounts)
Many camden folks were listening to Bleach but also Captain beefheart, and Stoogies were big. Nirvana was more songcraft. Silverfish was a new punk/hardcore. But people fed off each other. Sonic pictures were created of complex music outside the dumbed down oi oi crowd. It was like listening to Mozart and the lurch. When I came back to the states I never found such a loving scene between dancers as the lurch at Silverfish shows.
OH MY GAWD! This was the first time we played this song live, and we didn't have any vocals for it, so got Bingo to set himself on fire while Lesley sat out the the set opener. The fire extinguisher ran out of steam, and Bingo nearly fried, but they found another one and he came out of it medium rare.

For the record, Bingo was a firefighter. I once saw him bust down a door in one fell swoop. He was amazing. I wonder if he's on Facebook? ;-)

What was the date on this? I was the bass player in Slunk back in 89-91. Silverfish knocked some ear hearing and classic rock out of my head.

I know it was around February 14th because Fuzz was having a laugh over all his valentine cards. The year is tricky, maybe 1992?
