My family and I have a 23 year old tabby. He's been around since I was a baby and even before I was born. My dad knew Munchkin the longest. . Before we moved into our new house he was owned by an older woman who didnt take care of him,he was strictly an outside cat. He has suffered many injuries, from falling off roof tops to being hit by a car. We decided to take him and care for him. We've had him with us for 7 years now. Unfortunatly he has gone blind, but still functions !(: BEST cat ever.
My cat died at the ripe old age of 18. She had been diabetic for the last 6 years of her life. I'm surprised she live so long. After almost two years I still miss her sometimes.
I love Rouben ;-; My cat Muffy was born in 1986, i got him when I was 8 years old in 1988, and it absolutely broke my heart when he finally passed in 2006.
I know your last comment is like a year old but i just wanted to leave you a comment in case you check them still. I'm so sorry for your lost of Rouben, my heart goes out to you. I have two Senior Cats of 12yrs old which one of them i had sense his been a baby "5 weeks" just like you and Rouben. And i can't possibly think of the day that i will have to say good bye. So May he rest in peace your beautiful lovely Rouben and my heart goes out to you.
Rouben stopped dry food in Feb, In March a tooth was pulled - fl built up and was remov it took 2 wks to bounce back - shaved fur never grew back , last week Rouben started hav eye drainage, the vet gave him antib. drops - for the last week he has used rugs and bedspreads instead of the litter pan, thurs. and Fri. it was almost around the clock attent. and at MId. on Fri. after almost 23 years with me Rouben died weighing only 5 lbs I have never felt so lost
my cats 21, she has bad tooth and cant eat hard food anymore. the ad food from the vet has enough calories to keep her healthy, she lost too much weight on anything else i tried, if her tooth absesses i give her antibiotics till it goes down but that doesnt happen as long as she doesnt sneak and eat dry food. some days she wont eat, the ad food is easy to get in a syrynge and she lets me put it down her throat i hope your cat lives to b 25 like my other little buddy darryll, i sure miss him

Your cat does seem to be in good spirits. As long as the cat isn't suffering, let it live it's life out! Vets don't always give good advice. Especially a not so great vet. Pretty cat, love it's purr!

My cat's 22 his birthday is 3-16-87, he has bad kidneys but he's doing okay.
