  • what oa joke that a so called fitness adviser can be so clueless about what muscles an exercise targets, claiming the exercise "isolates' the triceps

  • OK, she's a little clueless. Neither of these exercises target the arms. The first, as the other commenter points out, is a pec-fly. It works the outer and inner chest muscle - not the biceps as she claims. The second does not work the triceps. Triceps exercises all require you to bend at the elbow - this straight-arm exercise works some back and shoulders, but isn't even a good exercise for those muscles either.

I can't wait to see what her Level 2 arm video shows...

  • 31yrs plus experience here, both exercises totally only work the chest without hitting the triceps. First exercise she demonstrates is dumbell flat flys (same exercise as a seated pec deck machine) which works the entire pectoralis major (chest muscle). 2nd exercise works the bottom of the cup area of the chest with some work to the shoulders.

To isolate the triceps you MUST only bend at the elbow after anchoring your shoulders in either of Holly's exercise demonstrations.

  • Is it safe to do these arm exercises when pregnant?

  • Interesting to see these exercises done with back on the floor. I've always done them in a sitting position.
