  • I have this whole show on VHS recorded in 1985 IT ROCKS!!!!!!!

  • Wow, I heard this exacty song in a country-themed pub just a few days ago. Great classic country song, which sounds even better after several beers. Rockabilly is true TRUCKER music. I love rockabilly for both the open highway and the poker table at the saloon.

  • If you like Rockabilly you have to watch our video

    /watch?v=PwpRKW01acE&list=LL-M9WG94R8TM-95OIjdlTEg&feature=mh_lolz

  • Carl showing the young 'uns how it's done.

George Harrison is already in heaven before even made it there.

  • This not one song . It is a medley for the musicians to show off their talent.. while having aball

  • this is awesome. can anyone tell me what song this is??

  • God I love Carl Perkins..he is the man, but it has got to be said...that is one horrible hair piece he is sportin'.

  • If you've seen the whole session on DVD you'd have seen George and Eric smile thorough out the whole thing. They are truly having a ball. Carl was George's hero. They were great friends and George said so many times.

  • when was this recorded?

  • @idic5 1985 it was the 30th anniversary of "Blue Suede Shoes"

  • the ULTIMATE jam session!!!!

  • This is so great.....wow...♫

  • Clapton wonders why George Harrisons solo was better than his

  • Eric looks so miserable =(

  • The king of rockabilly!

  • Love it. Ol Carl should jabs gave props to Luther in which he was inspired.

  • ringo would be playing the tambourine haha

  • Killer!!! Real Rockabilly.

  • Phewey.... and Luther don't get no respect.. Brother Luther made Carl. :)

  • Pride of Jackson,Tn!

  • Surprised they didn't give Ringo Starr a triangle to play........the talentless Beatle!(though not such a wanker as Paul McCartney!). :p

  • @macrae1985 you don't have a clue about Ringo. He gave The Beatles the steady beat they needed. You obviouly are not a Beatles fan. To each his own and glad you watched.

  • @marycreeves Not into 'boy bands'.......have The Stones anyday!

  • Elvis would be proud.

  • I don't want to hear a bunch of old men playing music.

  • @colinmh your problem

  • @colinmh piss off then

  • They can`t do that no more...brilliant...rock on...

  • only fool don't like this kinda session...if you gave it a thumbs down go play with yourself..because thats what your good at..

  • Woo wee!!! All they needed to add to this wonderful class was Elvis, John Lennon and Paul McCartney! Fantastic!!

  • Who is that @ 39s? Looks like a really young Eddie Van Halen. lol.

  • I'm glad they worked Ringo into this mash.

  • If you have more than 2 guitars there is always a dual.

  • George Harrison would have been enjoying this more than anyone of them there I think, Carl was George's main inspiration. They're both absolutely brilliant.

  • I swear, George Harrison could lay down some of the best sounding solos I have ever heard. His solos never upstaged the composition of a song - just well placed licks in just the right spot.

  • i swear i saw slim jim phantom at 1:30

  • @orijuy30 Yes, it's him. And Lee Rocker not too far away. If only Brian...

  • Comment removed

  • they didn't trust Ringo with anything more than a tamborine! ha ha

what a fantastic show this would have been to have seen!

  • There are some performances that you just wish that they would go on forever. this is one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I dont think I have seen George enjoy himself so much on stage before, look at the grin on his face..............

  • well that was just delightful! And who is that sitting next to Ringo?

  • 8 people are not fans of the male perm!!!

  • Very nice little solo from Eric, but his buddy George is more of a rockabilly man.

  • damn why this music has to be so good...

  • lee rocker on bass

  • I HAVE THE WHOLE SHOW ON VIDEO... AND I'M N-O-T GOING TO SELL IT.....

  • I agree George's solo was PERFECT in time, space and form. I'm a huge Clapton fan and he's great in his genre but Rockabilly clearly isn't his thing. Nothing wrong with his solo technically it just didn't capture the style of the tune. Great job by Carl singing and playing.

  • esta george harrison!!!

  • Rockabilly rocks the freakin universe!!!

  • God almighty ! FANTASTIC!

  • I got this DVD at HMV about eight years ago, still great, Carl, Eric, George, Roseann, Slim JIm McDonell, Lee Rocker and Dave Edmunds. Brilliant!

  • million dollar quartet ain't got nuthin' on these boys ++++++ the best !

  • It don't get any better than that.

  • I think that's Roseann Cash

  • This is very close to my idea of "all star band".

  • This is THE all time classic session. What an amazing talent was Carl Perkins

I wish to God that I could have been there.

  • i love clapton but george took him eric to school on this one , however if this were a blues song instead of rockabilly eric would have schooled george

  • The Real F*****g Deal

  • At 1.49 Claptons thinkin where the fuck's my solo!!?

  • @yahoochiewatchie @2:10 he's like "now we're talking!"

  • @yahoochiewatchie HAHAH Ringo and all are jammin and Carl keeps yappin??!?! Very Funny

  • wow is that allison krauss????

  • I wonder how much cocaine those dudes had between them.

  • Seven dislikes...hmmmm!!!! Must be RAP music fans, I reckon ! I got the DVD and it is AWESOME. Great collection of musicians. Carl will be missed for sure. "Rockabilly rules" . . . keep 'em rockin' . . .

  • @tomk1tl where did you get this dvd.

  • @awRockabilly I got it from Amazon dot com. Just type in Carl Perkins etc or you might try e-bay...great DVD and I think that you will like it if you are a rockabilly fan. Had my 3 yr old grand-daughter dancing up a storm in the living room.

  • What a line up..Rock on..............

  • Seven dislikes!! weird. If you dont like this style of music why watch!!!

  • irresistible!

  • thats is great. Thanks for posting this

  • That's what the best when it's rock'n roll! Simple as that

  • George solo :D awesome

  • "This is Rock 'n' Roll School Children!" -Carl perkins

    God bless that man.

  • Thanks for posting this and love the sessions. What collection of good musicians at one place.........................

  • Thanks for posting love the sessions.

  • If I walked in the room today, I'd kiss the floor and Praise Jesus for letting those fine folks gather together that one night!

  • there all tapping there feet off beat

  • Slim Jim bangin the skins while Ringo shakes his tambourine... Awesome

  • wow....

  • George was back in his own house re living his early youth.God bless ,Carl perkins, what an influence, a natural rock n roller.

Eric is on his own on guitar, check out mean woman blues in this session.

  • this, this was... just wow. amazing.

  • Браво Перкинс, спасибо ребята! Великие люди!....

  • He was so under rated !! His many talents included writting songs that were hits for groups like the beatles and most of that group love him.

  • 2:26 to 2:27 sums up the nature of this video. ego fest!!!

  • hmm its a couple seconds off, lets try 2:24 !

  • @rc1965 the guy between Carl and George is,I think, Dave Edmunds

  • jeez put a smile on your face clapton!

  • This is awful. The only one of the 'musicians' on that stage who could hold a candle to Carl Perkins was Eric Clapton, and he looked like a sullen adolescent who'd had a lemon shoved sideways up his arse throughout most of that video.

That's a disgraceful way to treat a man of Mr Perkins' stature and calibre.

  • @WilliamGruff

Wow, just wow. I'm going to assume you have very poor hearing and don't know any of the musicians on that stage aside from Eric. Call me crazy, but I think that George Harrison and Ringo Starr count as musicians, seeing as they played in possibly the most critically lauded and publicly adored band of all time, The Beatles.

  • @workitoutish

One thing you must understand about being 'clever' before you make any further attempts to be 'clever' is that to be 'clever' convincingly you must actually be 'clever', although in your case further efforts would be a waste of your time, and ours, since sarcasm is quite clearly not your forté.

Try again if you must but try harder, and try not to appear to be a half-witted adolescent.

  • @WilliamGruff Haha, George Harrison, THE BEATLES LEAD GUITARIST was a much better musician than Clapton, Clapton is an amazing Blues guitarist but he dosnt have nearly as much or a range as Harrison as a guitarist, a songwriter, and as a singer. Ringo Starr is also a bad ass drummer.

  • @BL80488 - You're right - Harrison definitely gets into the spirit of it more

  • @BL80488 While Clapton is a great virtuoso and technically superior, I belive George grasped better the feeling of the songs. He always played the just right thing, no more, no less. He barely ever exceeded himself in complicated solos, he preferred playing simple (but very nice to the ear). It's a matter of taste, but if I had to choose between them it would be George, for sure.

  • Wow, this is awesome! Love it...very rare to find this indeed. Thanks for posting...

Who is the man in between Carl & George? I recognize most of them....but can't place him...

  • Comment removed

  • someone needs to tab this....no seriously

  • The Billion dollar crew.

  • Damn!!Thanks for sharing this!

  • whare is brian setzer? you cant have a get togeather like this without him

  • George Loved Carl so. I remember him coming to the funeral. Carl was the genuine article, in fact, so was George.

  • Amazing... They all love him... he takes them all to school in a lovin' way....

I saw him at Chicagofest back in the early '80s I think.... Cheepass Trick was on the main stage.... I was wandering around drunk, and there was Carl, on a little stage, playing to nobody at all .... I stood in front of him and he played rockabilly to me as if I was was a crowd of thousands.... Thank you Carl for your music RIP

  • Lookit George, lookin at Carl... he's got a hero in his eyes.

  • @louswire

awesome how they are in sync more than anyone else. look at their feet

  • Jorge rest in peace

  • I taped this on VHS years ago and I STILL play it on VHS! Musical quality made the tape hold up very well... ; )

  • its like big daddy is teaching all the little birds how to catch a rockabilly worm!!

  • George had a rock a billy bone that came out alot.

  • simply the best set of guitar Players that ever lived R.I.P CARL AND GORGE

  • The Blue Moon of Kentucky on this is heaven, man.

  • I can't play the Guitar either because I'm too busy fingering my nose. Ha! Ha! Ha!

  • This is why I can't play the guitar. Carl, George, Clapton, and Dave Edmunds hogged most of the world's talent. There was not much left for the rest of us. Great show.

  • Used to have this show on video great gig

  • Carl Perkins was one of the most underrated guitar players I thought. He was awesome!! In this video he is sitting with George and Eric (God) Clapton, r u kidding me, what a lineup!!

  • One word. AMAZING

  • THE ROCKING CAT DADDY MR. CARL PERKINS! MAN HE COULD FLAT PLAY THE GUITAR! THANKS FOR POSTING!!!

  • koolest kat of the entire bunch is Perkins...

  • Hi guys I saw this years back a late night when we only had 1 channel in Denmark. This + the unfortunate early death of Elvis made me interested in Rock'n Roll. I was 8 years old when Elvis died. I remember it very clear. Strange for a child. I must have had RR in the blood already then... Rock on !

  • and damn Carl Perkins has some killer hair!

  • @b0ssh0gg - yeah and some bad hair to stage right of Ringo. This only needs the two guitarists to Carl's left - Edmunds & Harrison - the rest are just mugging for the camera

  • @b0ssh0gg It was a rug, but that can't take away from his amazing talent and presence!

  • Il ne manquait plus qu'Elvis et la soirée aurait été formidable. Hélas Elvis est mort....

  • Funny thing...when George Harrison was still a young aspiring guitarist (pre-Beatles), he actually used to call himself Carl Harrison, as an homage to Carl Perkins...and if you look at him during "Night Train To Memphis", whenever he looks at Perkins he still looks like a kid awestruck by his hero. That makes me smile.

  • This is an amazing clip. Almost enough to make me want to get a band going again.

  • George Harrison > Eric Clapton.

Clapton is sooo out of his league in this performance.

  • @OrangeCountyCarl No kidding! I've always found post-Cream Clapton stunningly overrated. They should have let Dave Edmunds take the solo instead. He'd have ripped that shit up, yo.

  • @OrangeCountyCarl

Eric was much better earlier on in this gig. By this time he was drunk.

  • @christopauls I don't know about you man, but I do some of my best playing and singing while slightly lit up LOL. These guys can't fail (except at buying clothes), they were and are the masters.

  • when I was a kid in the 70's my dad had a carl perkins tape,my mates and I loved it!!

  • What year was this session? Anybody?

  • I LOVE ROCKABILLY!!! Carl Perkins rocks! I bet they needed some kick- ass rockabilly up in heaven and thats why they called Carl Perkins home.

  • @ papstbenni : HELL YEAH IT WOULD!!!

  • @phuquerz Hell my feet been tapping for 55 years.,,,I'm 60 years old now , how do I get them to stop when I turn this utube off off it's still in my head..

  • @phuquerz What's the Song called?

  • @dll0990 It's a medley including 'That's Alright Momma', 'Blue Moon Of Kentucky' and 'Night Train To Memphis'

  • @phuquerz it could really be played with about 3 of them... so the rest is just egotistical clutter

  • @phuquerz

I agree its contagious. Keep playing it over & over .
