  • ummmmmmmmmmmm why do you have pink fingernails?

  • i have a m65 i put silicone water guard on mine and u forgot to show the hood it should have

  • lol im kinda scared to buy the woodland camo just incase people think im from the military or something when i walk on the road

  • @TheGarr123 good point in a shtf thing

  • or complete jacket descriptions?

  • Hi, I like both these jackets. Last month I bought two M 65 jackets but they are not of good quality. Could you please tell me the exact name of the company from where I can buy these jackets. Thanks

  • we have 4 all have to say if we cant destroy them in 6 years then its a good !!!

  • I have a M65~

  • @Shurrikzod7 Great job!

  • @megasimon999 do you like it?

  • @Shurrikzod7 I have one too, but the sleeves are too short... other than that, they are great!

  • One thing, you say the m-65 is waterproof. It isn't. Yeah if you pour a little on it it will bead up and run off, but take that thing out in a wet snow that's coming down heavy and you will see. Water resistant would be a better descriptor.

  • @zacthebold You are correct ....water resistant M65 Jacket

  • @megasimon999 I second that, I was stationed out in Korea for a few months for a joint exercise and it rained for a whole month straight. This jacket soaked through in the first hour. Horrible month.

  • The first one is not a m-65 its a gen1 ecwcs parka.

  • @JAEZAI1 Yep the M65 is later in the video, I did two jackets in one video, I'll change the title

  • @Johndussart47 I didn't? must have imagined it then.

  • Also if you don't reapply waterproofing spray, your goretex won't breathe properly when wet, you will get condensation inside much like a pu coated G.I. Poncho

  • @ViolentHomicide Well that makes sense because it does exactly that when I do any physical work.

Do you have a product you would recommend to waterproof it?

  • The goretex parka, the waterproofing eventually wears off and you'll need to apply waterproofing spray. The m65 is great, I used it in the army a lot.

  • @ViolentHomicide Firstly thanks for your service! I've had the Parka for about 5 years now and its still in great condition and I paid about $50 back then. bargain1!

  • It seems to be anti-scent too. The M65 doesn't pick up body odor or other smells easily.

  • @FortitudeOfHeaven interesting, hadn't thought about that.

  • Lol i thought u were a brit. And look up the m95 its really nice

  • @PSCreativeGaming Cheers...lol

  • Nice reviews. I own both of these jackets as well. The M65 is my go-to jacket for the colder weather here in New England. The gortex jacket is virtually impenetrable from the elements, great when it's pissing rain and cold. My only gripe would be the over-sized hood to accommodate a helmet, I usually wear a ball cap to keep it from covering my field of view. I did want to point out the 'map pocket' that's in the front zipper seam, it's a really nice pocket for flat items.

  • @pixelvale The Map pocket, that makes sense, I use that for my cell phone.

  • Thank you for posting this video. How does the parka hold up during a heavier/wet snowfall?

  • @wvd1979 Its waterproof completely and I used it in the snow a lot BUT it doesn't breath so If you are doing physical work outside you will be soaked on the inside which isn't good.

There are zipper vents under the arms so I guess thats an option to let some moisture out.

  • I just bought one drom a theift store!!

  • @longjon56 Nice score!

  • how waterproof is the M-65, also what would be better on a budget, i can get a new m-65 for like 20 bucks, tru spec brand, but a tru spec parka costs from 50 to 130.00

  • @ricky0604fh The M65 isn't very waterproof its better with snow as it will brush straight off, Usually in the military they wear a poncho over the top which is Nylon and completely waterproof.

  • how waterproof is the M-65

  • I just bought myself two of those Gore-tex parkas, but I bought the desert-camo version, the woodland versions were (heavily) used and still more expensive as the desert-camo ones which were brand-new. I bought one XL and one L, so I can pick one depending on how much I wear underneath them. I've owned a woodland M65 for about 8 years now and I still love this jacket very much, but for heavy rain I will use my new gore-tex parkas from now on.

Thanks for the review, greetings from Belgium

  • @Rikske77 Greetings and thanks for the reply, sorry about the delay in the reply lol but unless you check the video for replies it doesnt tell me theres a message! But its a great idea to have a different sizes to allow you to wear layers underneath as needed. I agree in rain you need to wear a poncho to be waterproof. the gore tex parka is a much better fit in the rain :)

  • I have two M-65 Field jackets, woodland. One from the Army and one from the Navy, U.S. From my male parental unit..They are indeed very, very comfortable, and warm.

  • @NecroHealth Nice its a great jacket to own.

  • thank you very much megasimon999 :)

  • @nukestmilitary thank you!

  • i want this parka jacket one . would you suggest where i get it? i'm stay in thailand but i can't fine this item for long time. i hope you and i will get luck. thank you very much.

  • @nukestmilitary You can find them on e-bay North American sites, theres lots on there.

  • i like it too

  • I was about to call you a moron when i saw the goretex parka. And where did you find one for $50? And just so you know there is a USGI liner for the parka.

  • @Vyppaaa11 well thanks forNot insulting me I guess?

I got this in an army surplus in the UK.

  • @megasimon999 When I saw that that the title was M-65 and you hand on the goretex II was like what? But then you said that you would be showing the M-65 later. I realize now what you were doing.

  • @megasimon999 I got a basically new one for $30 (USD) :)

  • I bought the same jacket (the first one), I was wondering what the buttons on top of the hood were for?

  • @supergreen34 You can snap on a fur to the outside which makes it more suited for Cold weather. I havent come across the furs, im guessing they get lost pretty quick.

Probably with a new one it would be easier to get hold of.

  • @megasimon999 The snaps are there to attach to the extreme cold weather face sheild but that is extremley rare because it was only issued to troops at the poles and was quickly discontinued.

  • @Vyppaaa11 yes you are correct for attaching a "storm shield" more research.

  • @megasimon999 After more research the snaps are for a "storm shield" not a fur.

  • Good Job on the video.

  • love the canvas jacket i prefer my 1970s m65 still going strong cool vid

  • best jacket ive eva got.very warm very waterproof.

  • Woodland is very cool, is just think it's oo mutch of the sand-brown, I live in Denmark.. so hehe

  • I got a similar M-65 jacket from Tru-Spec, it's good in the woods. Good review bud.

  • About $45 from an army surplus

  • magasimon999, open the zipper and you should be able to pull out a hood, at least on mine you can

  • Where did you get it?

  • my local army surplus.

  • Ok, thanks. If you said it in the video, then sorry, because my speakers are broken.

  • No probem, their pretty common you just have to find one in good condition.

    thanks.

  • I have an M-65 and there is a thin hood that folds up in the collar, good windbreaker but thats about it

  • Comment removed

  • simular to the french gortex jacket, but i love the french version, bigger cammo, less gay for urban.

  • They should make a hood for the m65 like the one on the weather parka so that you don't freeze your head.

  • There is a zip behind the collar on the M65 so im assuming you can get a hood of some type that attachs?

  • They have a hood that attaches to it, but it's very heavy and will cook you head.

I have one for mine; I only use it if Im going in a snow storm. For normal use is not practical.

Also you get some stares from people! lol!

  • Ok , where I live it would fit in nicely.....-40 celcius weather, nobody cares what you wear lol

  • I have a Woodland Field Jacket made in 1983, and I wear it with a liner from 1975, both still running strong, although the Camouflage is pretty faded. I also have the hood with the synthetic fur, and it is twice the size of my head, probably to accomadate a helmet. A trick I've heard is to put two liners into the jacket and a t-shirt underneath is just fine for winter wear. I might try this, although the jacket would probably be pretty heavy afterward.

  • the parka, referred to as a "gortex" by US troops, was issued to all US branches (Army, USAF, USMC and USN) when the woodland camo pattern was used. the clip tab in the front is used for displaying rank, the hood is over-sized so to allow a helmet to be worn under the hood and it was issued along with a fleeze type under-jacket that was made by Polartec.

    just some information for ya.

  • Nice one! thats very handy info. I knew about the rank thing, but didnt think about the large hood for a helmet. I normally wear 2-3 layers under in the winter and its toasty warm.

    Thanks!!

  • Man what a great jacket....Very well done.....

  • Thanks, I love the fact most surplus is cheap and designed pretty well for the job intended.

  • The bag is coming along nicely just need a few more systems such as shelter, food and cooking then Ill go test it !

  • Nice job brother! How's your " bag" coming along?
