You are spot-on in regards to Star Trek. As a longtime Trekker, I DID feel very insulted by Abrams' treatment of Trek. The film raped the franchise by degrading what was an intelligent TV show into a mindless, plotless action movie with little regard for the fanbase just for the sake of a fast buck. I'm glad someone else picked up on the worthlessness of Kirk's character.

I hate you. Transformers 2 was the most kick ass movie in 2009 next to Avatar. The rest of those sucked though. Star Trek is extremely retarded. Star Wars kicks its ass. Finally, ALL HAIL CHUCK NORRIS.

I am a fan and I hated this movie for many reasons. Uhura's personal-tragedy fetish left me feeling icky inside and out, Nimoy's appearance cements this movie as glorified fanfiction, and the plot makes no sense to anyone who puts more than ten seconds worth of thought into it.
