I can't atop watching this! It''s amazing and beautiful! I don't care if I sound terrible when I sing, I always sing to this. LONG LIVE THE GO-BETWEENS!
How depressing is it that footage of dogs chasing their tails and other mindless nonsense gets millions of hits, but literally the most beautiful song ever written gets so few? This song never fails to move me.
Beautiful song from a couple of beautiful humans. This song is very touching at a deep level. I wonder why God took Grant back from us so soon? Thank God for the time we got.
A wonderful song from a wonderful band, and there is something so touching and intimate about these acoustic performances. Thanks so much for putting this up. God bless the Go-Betweens!
Does it get any better? Every time I watch this I start crying. What a beautiful man. I saw them in Nottingham in about 1990. All the wat through some girl kept shouting "Get your cock out" at Grant. He handled it with grace and tact and a wicked one liner that I can't quite remember, but it shut her up!
Oh god, that was emotional. I never thought Grant was showcasing his wonderful talents close to his passing. Such a beautiful performer - his inate inner beauty shines through his music ans still resonates within many others listening to him today. Imagine being remembered as a beautiful, soulful, talented, gentle soul forver more. Tis is just a small part of what Grant has left us all. RIP my god brother.
Yes very tearful - saw them first in 86 in London, (Deacon Blue should have been the first support band on before they were famous - but did not show!)
Robert walked into the crowd - still the most awesome thing I ever see a singer do - and I stood right at the front stage left and fell in love with Amanda. My friend came to see them with me another time and met his future wife at the gig!!!!! - only through music!
I saw the Go-betweens play a few times. Once in Glasgow 86/87?, I think it may have been the Tallulah tour thus 87. Amanda had joined and I recall being close enough to the front to be "joyfully" aware that she was wearing stocking or hold-ups.
This song is beautiful. Play up and play on - you guys will always be able to touch my heart.
Off now to check out Robert Forster`s new CD - The Evangelist.
I saw the Tallulah tour at the Paradise in the 80's in Boston.....bye bye pride is such a brilliant song....really, it's as if the mamas and the papas were in the studio with the GBs. So sad Grant is gone.
@nowaverocker I love this song. What happened? I had no idea that this musical genius had died. That is too sad!!!!!!!! Beautiful song. What a legacy he left.
The last LP "Oceans Apart" was so great, and I was again really excited and thought, oh they have it all together again. It is really sad to hear that Grant is dead. Friede seiner Asche
Yeah, bye-bye Grant. But we'll still have your songs, mate.
I love this song so much. When this came out, I used to get my oboe out and play along with the album (on vinyl of course!) for my husband when we first got married.
This is beautiful.

They seemed like such different men. It'd be interesting to know the dynamics of their friendship. The bond. The tensions. I'm glad they met.

Both were musical geniuses. This is my favorite Go-Betweens song. It's a pity Grant had to go so young...
