Helen was my mother's favorite singer of all time. My mother passed away years ago but every time I hear Helen's songs it reminds me of my mother growing up. I always cry when I hear these songs and Captain and Tenelle's songs. Why I love rock and heavy metal so much so I don't have to remember this stuff. Alwways good once in a few years to listen to the music just for the memories.
She never seemed to have the public's eye, but my eye's thought of her as good down to earth, with fabulous talent. She seemed to choose, to keep bottled up. She never struck me as a camera seeker like a lot of Hollywood glory hounds. Which I feel is a big reason she is what she is to me. IMHO her religion came before her stardom. I applaud that, she's a winner more than most.
She is awesome. Linda Ronstadt is the only singer which can keep up with Helen. It takes me back when I hear, 'Delta Dawn', 'I am Woman' and this awesome rendition. Sara Brightman is incredible with this song as well. Helen rules and Peace always...
@cliiff2 Well I question your credibility as you claim she's an " " in Australia right now and actually she's in NY or London on Broadway, depending on the show's schedule.
As far as feeding cats goldfish. Don't believe everything you read.....
you can tell she has major problems. I think that she was suicidal during this period. Her short hair indicates that she has major psychological problems.
But she couldnt admit any of this because she kept siging "I am unvincible".
For her to admin vulnerability, she knows she would have been classified as a hypocrite, and she would lose all her money and then she would seriously commit suicide. That is why she is an old hag in Austrailia right now
ah yes, cuts right to the soul of your being. a masterpiece of a song, executed w the skill and perfect pitch of a true professional! i know how to love you, helen reddy. :)
This lady has one of the greatest voices in pop music history... so underrated... even today, who can sing live like this? She has no special hokus pokus in the microphone vibrating her voice or any such nonsense. This lady sang with feeling pure and simple. One of my favorite songs by this great lady!
Beautiful Voice, Beautiful Song. Summer '71 was a great time for music. Thanks for posting. BTW: I believe her last name is spelled "ReDDy" not "ReADy". You might want to correct that in your title so more people will get to see this great video. :)
One word - Wow!

@cliiff100 Are you a Psychologist or do you just make up scenarios that feed your fantasies?
BTW, short hair is very easy to manage and Helen Reddy's hair is gorgeous.
You sound sexist and weird!

Jef ,

Everytime, I hear this Torch Ballad of Helen Reddy it reminds me of
a long lost Lover who constantly haunts me day and night. Time has
not diminished my love for him.
