With all due respect to the uploader of this video, some of the words that you've used are completely inaccurate. However, I still respect your effort. For example, "mchana" isn't necessarily afternoon; it means "day" The correct word for afternoon is "adhuhuri" and "shkamo" is incorrect. The correct spelling is "Shika Mo" which means the speaker is "touching the heel" of the person he/she is greeting as a show of utmost respect. I know this because I'm from Kenya and we speak both Swahili.
thanx so much i found this video very helpful i'm only 13 but i am so interested in africa and the culture because it has been a big part of my life. My mum and stepdad got married there and they have brought me up like it and when i grow up i want to work in africa and learning the language would be the greastest thing i think it will be hard but i am shure i will manage it =) thanx for the vid
I think your videos are going to be a great help. I'm hopefully doing research in Kenya next year and I am going to try to learn some swahili, hopefully I can get the basics before I go. Cheers

@sailorcharlene that's slang, not proper swahili. Mambo is "things" in the proper swahili. Problem is shida or tatizo.
