But Nissan stated they were never interested in the 1.4 mile, they wanted to be the fastest around the track, and it was a good idea because come the 90's and 2000's everyone started being interested in the track.

In the early 90's Nissan didn't feel there was a viable market for the car in the US so they didn't produce a left hand drive version. Now of coarse the US gets the Skyline but sold under the Infinity name. Australia used to get the Skyline in one form or another. In the early 70's the C110 was sold as the Datsun 240K .The C210 as the Datsun Skyline. R30 and R31 sold as Nissan Skyline.Then no more!

heniadir, the skyline is NOT illegal in the USA. i have seen several on the roads here. R32, R33, R34's... there is a delicate shipping process though, they cant come off a boat and get registered. has to be dissassembled and re-assembled here in the USA.

Yep it's a typical gtr, great looking car up to the "B" pillar then it looks like the designer handed it over to the work experience kid to fuck up the back end and get it all out of proportion. R34,33, 31 all the same rear end sucks, the only one they got right was the r32.

I have a question. Will the new "GT-R" be Nissans last good creation? With cars like the Altima being promoted as sports cars, with these cheaply manufactured engines made by robots I've almost completely given up hope there will be any nice cars to come out of any company. My brother had one. In New Zealand the car was called 240K. His was not the GTR. Had 2.4 six - single down draft carburetor, auto. And kicked butt.

@211Alucard depents where you live. in japan they were called prince skyline untl 1968 (when the c10 was released) and after that nissan. in germany they called it until 1981 datsun skyline (the c10 however was called Datsun 240K-GT) at least its what wikipedia said xD

このＧＴＲを職場の先輩が乗っていて運転させてもらったことがある。信号待ちしているあいだもブレーキを踏みながらアクセルを軽く踏んでいないとエンジンがストールしそうになった。しかもトルクの太いところを保たないと思うように走らない。運転がへたっぴーな私は市街地走行では２速までしか入れることができなかった、運転する者の腕を選ぶ車でした。

if it is 60s -70's GTR, it at least priced over 30K$ as historic car. It only sold in Japan and numbers are very small. There aren't loads of these. I am living in Tokyo and never saw this type of Skyline in my life.

one possible reason could be that back in early 70s, Japanese were not rich enough to buy these high performance cars...like GTR, Z432, Toyota 2000GT, these three were dream cars back them...and not much remain...specially 2000GT...only 500 were made, today is costs around 100k

there aren't that many out there simply because the C110 GT/R were only 197 in my knowledge (500 in tokyocityrat's knowledge - not a lot anyway) in first place and very likely they have not been imported in your country

Yep it's a typical gtr, great looking car up to the "B" pillar then it looks like the designer handed it over to the work experience kid to fuck up the back end and get it all out of proportion. R34,33, 31 all the same rear end sucks, the only one they got right was the r32.
Of course I know every Skyline tragic in the world is gunna bag my comments but they are my opinions n I'm sticking to them!

I have a question. Will the new "GT-R" be Nissans last good creation? With cars like the Altima being promoted as sports cars, with these cheaply manufactured engines made by robots I've almost completely given up hope there will be any nice cars to come out of any company. Ford,Chev and Dodge brought back their old cars, which look not bad but they need something new and original, without the cheap plastic look. Modern cars, Old soul.

good creation. nissan promoting cars like the altima is simply their way of marketing them to new buyers for a long time one of the taglines makers use is "sporty" to appeal to sports car buyers

@Excelo24 But with all the laws for safety getting harder and harder we get crappy overweight cars that all drive the same. We use carbon, aluminium, fiberglass, lexan but in the end what do we get? 1800kg sports cars.....*shakes head*
