I wouldn't care if I had very little for Christmas if my parents couldnt afford it. In that situation I rather have nothing so that spare cash will go to them instead to help pay for food, clothes. I would be more happy then!
Very, very iffy, if not a little dubious for a Christmas appeal...I don't really know what to think...there are kids going without food...but this kid does get the Xbox, even if he doesn't get that particular game...and they don't release a new console EVERY year...then again, I was just watching Barnardo's adverts about child poverty, abuse, neglect, adult criminal behavior resulting from childhood abuse, male prostitutes who run away from a shit home life to hustle for drugs & get raped.
Oh, the horror. Who can I send the check to? This is much more compelling than those children with the flies all over them. And Timothy seems like he could survive until he gets the cash.
excellent and actually really stopped me in my tracks to think about the appeal more than more obvious an traditional campaigns do. i guess that was the point. i think t souws you can have an irreverant tone but still make an important point
gets right to the core of the problem and how so much is spent on the latest gadgets for our kids, and just a portion of that money can be life changing to someone in need around the globe!
I agree that this is a very well done video, but I'd like to point out that we shouldn't simply just say 'I enjoyed that', forget about it and do nothing positive in response. I'd like to know how many people have actually donated to World Vision in some way as a result of this...
Gets the message over in the best possible way at this time of year. I now sponsor 2 children, waiting for the details of my second coming through, and I hope this video makes other people do the same!
Well done, well meaning but I think it will be wasted on a lot of consumer obsessed people. We have given alt gifts for a couple of years now and sponsor children but but it still dosen't seem enough. I hope this vid does make some people think.
If you google "world vision alternative gift catalogue" you can give something that may make a real difference. Merry Christmas everyone and God Bless.

Nice sarcastic style, hidden messages in commentary, excellent advert for World Vision and their programme. Keep it going..passit on.

As a World Vision sponsor, I'll be sending this video out to all of my Christmas card recipients. It's a great video and really makes the point...

'Doesn't have the basic skills he needs to stack the dishwasher.' - That bit certainly rings true!
A great video - a good reminder to us all at a time when we're all piling into the shops to get things we don't really need.

An excellent movie, but I fear it will mean nothing to this 'must have now' society.
Oh bring back the Christmases of yesteryear when it was all about the 'spirit' and not the 'price'!
A very Happy Christmas to everyone especially our sponsored children.

Great Video
Definitely makes you think twice before complaining about getting an unwanted present when there are so many people out there with nothing!

Great idea well executed - especially poignant at this gluttonous time of year - it has certainly made me think about Christmas in a different way!
