It escapes me why in a horn-only system like this they wouldn't just set them all to continuous and panel code them. After a few minutes it ends up just sounding awful.
@twoplyboy Its a Crime to own a Simplex fire panel that is over 4010 (Ex 4020) its known as Pirating simplex software, i'll pm you the link where i got this info)
@rhett443 yeah I think I'm ok. I do not own this panel. This panel is perfectly fine. yeah sure it is illegal to own the software and the key. Nothing has been pirated here either.
@rhett443 No. You're wrong. A panel and software are two different things. Having the software is illegal. I can have any panel I want as long as I paid for it.
Don't start spewing shit that you claim as fact when it obviously isn't.
@coffeeandsugar20 Since when is owning the software illegal? A violation of Simplex policies, yes. Illegal, absolutely NOT! Simplex is proprietary and they make serious attempts to keep other companies from working on their equipment.
@depravedone "A violation of Simplex policies, yes. Illegal, absolutely NOT!"
You're an idiot. I don't come from mars, neither do you. From someone who's talked to Tyco International and SimplexGrinnell on the phone, I know for SURE. You CANNOT have a copy of Simplex's programming software and USB key.
And for someone who will be working for the company in a couple years, I stand by that statement. I could email someone from Tyco right now to backup my claim.
@coffeeandsugar20 Thanks for calling me an idiot, it just proves you have no idea what the hell you are talking about. Do you think that Tyco is a government organization that enforces the law? Are you mental? They are simply trying to keep it all proprietary and closed off from any other companies. If you think that they somehow have the power to put you in jail over having software, you're mental.
@coffeeandsugar20 They go to great lengths to protect themselves from any sort of competition like this. That is why I have ripped out several Simplex systems and replaced them with Notifier or Mircom. At least with them you can go to another dealer if you're not happy with your service. With Simplex you're screwed if you need to do more than change out devices for the exact same device.
@depravedone Shut the fuck up. Tyco officials make your annual salary in a month.
You think removing Simplex systems for Notifier/Fire-Lite Garbage makes you cooler? No, it doesn't. Just by butting in to my own conversation with someone else sets yourself up to be insulted.
@coffeeandsugar20 Wow, with your attitude, you're going to go far in life, kiddo. Are you 12? How would you even purport to have any idea of my income, or for that matter my line of work? I've been in the industry since before you were born, so get over yourself.
@depravedone And here's a tip. Don't butt in with an aggressive statement. I almost got in trouble with Tyco for saying I had their programming software. After saying I didn't, all was good. Now I've met every single person at my local Simplex office and the district manager said he would be happy to have me as an employee.
@coffeeandsugar20 Yeah, well the whole point I was trying to make when you resorted to name-calling and general flipping out, is that Tyco aggressively protects themselves in regards to their programming software. They might attempt to file legal action against you for unauthorized use of their software, but they aren't going to bust down your door and hall you off to prison.
@depravedone Sorry about the freakout, but please don't call me wrong. I almost got in trouble for saying I had the software, but I was pardoned when I said that I didn't. What I had rather, was a CD with manuals to Simplex panels.
@weatherdan882002 no, i'm putting in each address. I dont think it does ask for the points if you do it your way. it's been so long I can remember. I'm not done that inspection so I'll check, cuz now i'm curious.
@twoplyboy you're right, I have the manual and it looks like the reason why it's asking you for a point is because you're not pressing the trouble acknowledge button. I guess even if a trouble point's displayed, you still need to press acknowledge.
what does supervisory mean?
