    Thank´s!!!!!! You is "The best"

  • Thanks. I dropped my lens and broke this tab. This is one of my favorite lenses, so I was pretty sad, since as you mentioned the price of the repair = price of the lens. This will get me by until I can stomach replacing the lens.

  • lol=))

turn the aperture ring to 22 and lock it:)

  • @ everyone: to use this lens on a digital body you have to set the aperture to f22, slide the lock so the aperture ring can't move, and adjust the aperture using the camera.

  • Hey i have had that error before with that same lens.. And what your explaining isnt the issue. All you have to di on the lens it self near the apperature ring there is a long switch, so just turn the apperature ring all the way to the left and then slide that lock switch into place so that you cannot move the apperature.. becauase on the d90 you can control it on the camera body itself.

  • my notch is not broken... it is good when its on f22 though, the lock on the 50mm lens able to reach the notch but when your on f22 focus ring but when you're below f22 it doest reach the notch... sorry for my english.. hope you can understand it.. thanks for the tutorial!

  • This is a broken notch from the lens itself. . did you buy yours second hand? or brand new? you should see the location of the notch about 8 o clock position if you are facing the camera. there should be a tiny notch there that goes counter clockwise when you move it.

  • Is that the notch from the camera body that is broken or is that from the lens notch that is broken? I also have the same problem. Just got my D90 today and I'm very disappointed... please help... Thanks....

  • Thank you so much for ur tutorial. I had the same problem for quiet some time now. It helped. You should be a model.
