  • oh shit niggaz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • To everybody who is unsure, confused, or just didn't know that Lupe doesn't produce the beat for his songs, especially for Food & Liquor, so it wasn't Lupe sampling the song. Just saying.

  • too bad music like this isn't as prioritized as much in our country, with all the bubblegum pop trending amongst the adolescent demographic.

it's still uncanny to discover that lupe referenced a sample of this. 'kick, push' is the reason i found this video.

  • OMG

  • @Drewkiimon lol. stupid. he sampled it with permission

  • Holy shit this blew my mind. My boy Lupe sampled some lady from my country, the Philippines. He dug deep for this one man. I mean make a beat from a 20 year old song from a random foreign country? Holy Shit on a Stick.

  • @CeesKC you got that right, it's just too bad he doesn't make that many songs

  • dang, one of my favorite songs - Kick,Push sampled a Tagalog song? i gotta ask my dad if he knows this song. Who produced Kick,Push anyways?

  • @zarenj21 A producer named Soundtrakk. Trakk said he raided his father's record collection and found this song.

  • @JRock424 really? imma raid my dads stack later than hehe

  • @zarenj21 Soundtrak, I think ....he does most of Lupes songs

  • kick push by lupe fiasco sample

  • My cousin and I were listening to this at the beginning, he said "Uh!" And then I was like "Fail."

  • @Mahareshi lol u US-centric?

  • Filipino

  • Hust effin cried!

  • in the beginning i felt like lupe's lines woulda came up lol

  • @thecool702 me too!

  • @thecool702

    haha word. me too

  • Those who don't know the difference between referencing and stealing don't know the actual philosophies of art, and have no right to any type of cultural opinion. Lupe didn't rape the song he REFERENCED it. WITH PERMISSION.

    Dumb niggas, I swear.

  • Couldn't be more correct! @badboi0717

  • @badboi0717 referenced in this case can also be called sampled :p

  • @badboi0717 LOL I know right i hate when i see comments about how sampling = copying... people are just stupid.

  • @badboi0717 if i made my entire essay a quote from another essay, i hardly think that would be considered a reference. fiasco put a drum beat to the intro of this song and looped it. thats original? thats bullshit. sampling is uncreative and lazy and not art.

  • @Runningjoels Really, because it actually takes a trained ear to spot good sample, accurately aim the loop, and add a drum beat that doesn't clash. Once again, you're ignorant to the actual philosophies of culture, fuck up. As an actual TRAINED, PROFESSIONAL artist, both musically and visually, I know the difference between stealing and referencing.

  • @badboi0717 so let me get this straight- u hear something u like and appropriately sync a drum beat to it... thats musicianship to u? thats art? it saddens me if thats wut u consider creativity

  • @Runningjoels If you think thats all there is too it, you're pretty ignorant. While I know its not the most technically difficult musical technique but is IS still a valid technique. once again, classically trained musician here, I know what I'm talking about b.

  • @badboi0717 it takes neither technique nor composition. its nothing. and this is a matter of opinion so i hardley see how being a "trained musician" has anything to do with it.

  • @Runningjoels Ah, so someone with no experience or any actual evidence behind their claims knows more than someone who does it all the time? Who'dathunkit.

Dude. It DOES take a certain level of technique and you cant have novice skills in synthetic composition to do it well. Trust me, its MADE to look easy, but its not all that cut n' dry.

  • @badboi0717 LMFAO wut evidence do u have? wut technique does it require? u can record at any tempo and speed it up later, unless ur definition of techique is that u have to be able to press keys on a keyboard. and this isnt a composition, he sampled the entire thing and added a prerecorded drumbeat. give me the equipment and a couple of weeks and i could do this shit easy. as credible as a "trained musician" on youtube is, ima have to disagree with ur expert opinion.

  • @Runningjoels I repeat, having an ear for a correct sample and knowing what drums to put into the loop takes some musical insight. Its not about physical, technical difficulty all the time.

  • @badboi0717 lol, enough with this "having an ear," bullshit, any dumbass can hear a riff and say "that sounds good" as for the drums thing, all that takes is an understanding of time signature and tempo, which is theory 101 shit. if thats ur definition of a talented musician, then ur standards of talent are extremely low.

  • @Runningjoels I'm going to have to completely agree with you.

  • @Runningjoels Word, you're right. Samples are thoughtless and vapid, and anyone can loop anything without any kind of ear. Its so frickin easy. Because "sounding good" and being able to be looped without any kind of alteration are the same thing.

  • @badboi0717 lol any dumbass could learn how to loop in a day stupid bitch.

  • @Runningjoels Word, Im agreeing with you. Looping is easy and vapid.

  • @badboi0717 right on.

  • @Runningjoels sampling... uncreative? boy... well, i'm just gonna ask you to hear me out and maybe listen to one or two beats that are prime examples of how creative sampling can be. falling (instrumental) by madlib and america's most blunted, also by madlib. other guys that you should check out is maybe nujabes and j dilla. they aren't your oridinary producers. especially j dilla.

  • @badboi0717 wow come on why the racism i dont no what black people have done to you but you no not every black person is like that sadly we have brought alot of things upon ourselfves but just like its wrong for us to call you racial slurs its wrong for you or anybody to do the same as well as black people calling each other "nigga" like its normal god bless you :)

  • @ravenbrown411 Well, because I'm NOT a racist, I refer to anyone overwhelmed with ignorance when I say dumb niggas, regardless of race. I control the word, not the other way around.

  • @badboi0717 whoa wait what do you mean you control the world?you mean literally or are you just kidding...?i mean, wow lol your not serious right?im totally lost here... O-o

  • @ravenbrown411 I said i control the WORD, as in the n word. It has no power over me and I refuse to let that shit hurt me.

  • @badboi0717 oh lol my bad i didnt read it right, but thats good i guess i mean at least you ca ignore it but we are all humans i mean i dunno about anybody else but words do hurt.and wait a min what do you mean you control the word you mean the bible or are you using a metaphor or something i dunno i may be kinda slow but i really dont keep up with the world nowadays im still learning this text talk people are doing lol but i dont mean any harm im just trying to understand thats all.

  • @badboi0717 but you know speaking in general if a white man or anybody else black or not called me "nigga" or a "nigger" i WILL be offended i dont no about anybody else but you would think after so many years black people of all else would know better then to submit to racism.its really sad to here things like that from our brothers and sisters even tho we dont really have much to worry about and slavery happened to our ancecters and not us we should be thankful we dont have it today.

  • @ravenbrown411 Nigga was I refering to you? You a slave to your own inhibitions, talking about shame and whatnot. Because I am a FREE man, and nothing owns me, I say what I want when I want. Fuck yo feelings, man, people died for the right for me to say whatever the fuck I want.

  • lupe fiasco sampled the beat for his song Kick, Push yall

  • yup u right!!

  • @DestinyRPower Lupe didn't sample it, Soudtrack made the beat, and Lupe bought the exclusive rights, and cleared the sample after.
