Awe-inspiring playing, m'man, even taking next to no damage in the final boss set with so much time left. I tend to work to take out that first boss as fast as I can, even taking a decent amount of hits just to get it over with. The second is never too bad, and the third is usually where I have to hope I have a good 30 seconds of clock left to chop away at him.
I recently finished the first and second games, I just recently sarted with this one and even though this one lacks cheap deaths, this one has a challenging level design and of course limited continues and I hate you for finishing it so quick and easily :c
@Ironmonk036 Yes it does. I've done countless runs of this game (some more successful than others), but the Fire Shield works wonders and protects you from pretty much everything but pitfalls.

The "Fire Wheel-shield" power-up works fine on some bosses too, give it a try on the last boss (it breaks his shield in 3 seconds), but can get only one fire wheel in the entire "7" level, so you should keep it safe. (This looks nice, but even so, I prefer the other strategy :p)..
Use it to beat the first boss quickly too, not to hit him, but to avoid his flames while hitting..
You can beat the final boss quickly: just keep hitting on the left side of screen (like if you're hitting off screen), when he approaches to the right side, get hitted. This works on every boss... try it ;)

Nice run, I have fond memories of this game and 2 (though TBH I much prefer 2, I don't think the difficulty is way different between them but 2 had cooler levels and a more interesting story)
For anyone who thinks this is TAS, you're never played these games, his run here, while awesome, is only SLIGHTLY better than any run where you win the game at all. (Though that slightly makes all the difference). It took months of playing no other games before I could beat NG 2. New games are so easy
Nice work man. I made a VHS tape of myself beating all 3 NGs back in '97 in one sitting but it's nothing like what I see here on YouTube. Yeah, I know people say there's emus in use but I really don't think syxx573 used any of that. You can kinda tell when people are cheating. All I see here is skill and lots of it.

After watching this video I am convinced that NG 3 is harder than 1. I could never figure out why I couldn't beat it, but I could beat 1 easily. However I still contend the music is far worse in 3 and 3 is significantly more memorization ultimately leading to a less satisfactory game.
this is almost a no hit run, but not a speed run. there are many parts were you can do a lot better than you have showed in this vid...but all in all in is an enjoyable vid...
u just need to practice. i was playing NG1-2-3 pretty hard core for a month before i decided to do a vid. Looking back I think there are things i could have done better in this video but right now i'm playing other games
Nuh uh, you're just a genius. No matter how many times me and my friends tried, we can never pull something like this off. I mean 1 was super annoying, 2 was hard, but 3 was damn well impossible. Took us forever to get past even the SECOND level and you did it with what seems to be no effort at all. Kudos man.
