@heartless982 I understand if it's not your style I'm just saying that it takes more lyrical skills to rap than any other genre of music because you have to be able to write constant rhyming poetry but with a fast flow and express meanings etc. poems are usually used to give ideas but in rap it's harder to use poetry to tell stories while it takes more instrumental skills to play metal or rock or any other fast paste stuff

i play the guitar, and i hear rap and hip hop and then look at my guitar. i do like some rap but lets be serious. most rap starts with a beat that most likely comes standard on a drum kit with a lttle do do do three notes from a keyboard. rap can be good but comeone that 50 cent song's beat ive heard on any little drum kit you buy at target. rap is cool, 50 is cool but to compare is kinda sad.
At this point most metal can kick raps ass no problem IMO metal is becoming more popular than ever along with the fact people love guitars :D. Back in the day though......id have to give it to rap....oldschool eminem and tupac would have taken down a lot of metal. this is just my opinion though
Listen to some decent hip-hop artists. e.g. Sadistik, Prolyphic, Qwel, One Be Lo etc. I like all genres of music, and neither one is better. Both have good & bad artists.

@heartless982 I understand if it's not your style I'm just saying that it takes more lyrical skills to rap than any other genre of music because you have to be able to write constant rhyming poetry but with a fast flow and express meanings etc. poems are usually used to give ideas but in rap it's harder to use poetry to tell stories while it takes more instrumental skills to play metal or rock or any other fast paste stuff

Just like metal has gone through cancer with nu metal and glam metal (and currently -core genres), hip-hop is going through cancer with the likes of T-Pain, Lil' Wayne, and the all-dreaded auto-tune and FL Studio. i play the guitar, and i hear rap and hip hop and then look at my guitar. i do like some rap but lets be serious. most rap starts with a beat that most likely comes standard on a drum kit with a lttle do do do three notes from a keyboard. rap can be good but comeone that 50 cent song's beat ive heard on any little drum kit you buy at target. rap is cool, 50 is cool but to compare is kinda sad.
