Awesome video. I have always loved this film and actually got to see a screening of it at the base of Devil's Tower several years ago with my best friend who is a filmaker and fellow CE3K fan.
i grew up with CE3T and i was obsessed with this movie..still am to a lesser degree and never tire of it to this day. This guy has done an incredible job here and i mean INCREDIBLE!.Brilliantly filmed and concieved. What a really enjoyable experience.Thank you sir!!
I didn't remember Carl Withers being in the movie. Wish I could give this video more than one "Like". You Mr. Attia.... have a directors eye. Best video on YouTube.
@nerblebun Carl Weathers' scene is in the 1977 theatrical version. I just picked up the Blu Ray of this movie this week, and it has all three version of the movie on one disc (1977, 1980 Special Edition, and the Director's Cut.) I agree about Herve Attia: this guy deserves an award for finding these locations!
Brilliant! Brilliant! Always wanted to follow those footsteps to Devil's Tower, being a hiking enthusiast as well as fan of this movie. Now that I'm an old guy, and living on the other side of the world, I think that opportunity has slipped by. However, after watching this video, I am totally satisfied. Feel just like I was there with you. Thanks!
This video is brilliant! Close Encounters has been my personal favorite since its release in 1977. Herve, I applaud you for your stunning film making skills and attention to every detail, which shows a great love and respect for the movies you profile. Devils Tower is as beautiful today as it was 35 years ago and I climbed the very same rocks only a few short years ago. Tremendous fun. RIP Francois.
Totaly awesome.....I think it's so cool seeing the Neary house again, and Devil's Mountain.......awesome job! Thanks for the entertainment Herve.......
Herve, you do what I can only dream about - experiencing my favorite movies (and it's amazing how many of your favoirtes mirror mine) "in the flesh," so to speak. It is my fervent wish to travel to these places you have shown and experience them as well. And perhaps, just perhaps, to someday do as you do!
Awesome. I never got what the French dude said either, but it didn't spoil the film, I just put it down to a sentence simillar to "holy shit, they're here!"
Amazing as always! Im a huge fan of your work. Im truly impressed over your abillity to find every location and camera angle :) Greetings from a Swdish fan

Herve, you are remarkable. This is nothing short of magnificent. Some very ingenious cinematic juxtapositions, and a rousing dramatic build.
This stunned me. An incredible tribute to a 1970s classic. You have honoured the movie and opened new doors into it.
