  • This is Roland Hayes' later recording. He had a 1939 recording which sang even better than this one.

  • Ah, where did you find such a rare copy?

  • From the CD "Brother Can You Spare a Dime".

Pearl CD # GEMM CD 9484.

You may buy it in Amazon

  • Where may I find recordings by Roland Hayes?

  • You have to search a little. Amazon has a few, Ebay sometimes, websites that specialize in spirituals, and a small number of record/CD stores. Happy hunting!

  • Anybody out there familiar with the passage of John 14:6?

Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the Father , but by me."

Jesus wasn't be arrogant, He came to teach and lead us into the way of relationship with the loving and sovereign Lord.

  • @seti27748 and also with our fellow man.

  • Being a Christian and Southern Baptist I have heard this song most of my life. It always touches me when I listen to it especially this Roland Hayes version. Thank you for posting it and God bless you.

  • You're very welcome Frank. You might be surprised to know that I'm not very religious. I believe in a creator, but not the Catholic church's version of a savior. There's too many problems in the text to make it believable. However, it does have good advice so its worth reading.

  • You might be surprised to know that I'm not very religious either. I believe in Jesus and concur with everything from the Southern Baptist Faith and Message. I think ones walk with God is a personal experience, and I am not attuned to a lot of pomp and circumstance. I fall short each day, and each day I ask God for forgiveness. Its all about faith and love nothing else. What is the truth? When Pontius Pilate asked the question "What is truth?" even Jesus didn't venture and answer.

  • What is the truth? Looks like you have some Plato to catch up on. Actually, read "On the Quadrature of the Circle" (1450) by Nicolaus of Cusa, since he rescued Platonic method in science from whence you then got inventors like Ohm ;). You'll probably enjoy it.
