  • Hey where can i get one of those?

  • why was there a random kid at the end?

  • hey do you think you could give us a list of parts and a tutorial?

  • What is that motor?

  • try putting a wheel on the front... i did that to mine, and put industrial adhesive in the blot....

  • hey man from where you buy all the components to build this fighting robot??

  • @RomanKnight88 it all depends where you are from, if the uk then places like giant cod and ebay, if usa then try the robot marketplace. send me a message for more detail

  • yeahh i like how much is the price for this robot? :)

  • yeahh i like it is cool from where do you buy it? have an link with the website pls?! :D

  • hey dude 5* fighting robot ;)

  • Are you in some sort of club or some thing? Lemme know I want to join I. Got skills

  • That is a powerful weapon

  • what kind of servo are those used for the tires?

  • What did you name him? XD

  • Where can you get these or did u make it

  • And that's a punishment for your kids" hey bud wanna play with this new toy try driving it into your foot"

  • what did you use to power it?

  • awsome now you can cut someones toes off

  • you should tell your friends to make bots and put money on them lol

  • I love how youre testing without shoes,,,

  • why would you kill me toy car boat thing? =*(

  • HOLY FK IS THAT A MINI SAW BLADE?

  • *sigh* killed by a stationary kids toy :P

  • ouch that hurts!

  • Oooh - keep your toes away - think I would have been wearing shoes or standing on a chair or something!

  • where did you get your blade?

  • @x19710 from my ass

  • omfg!that robot is dangerous!

  • hey im just getting into battle bots i have done robots before but where should i start like is tghere a kit ore something? plz help

  • Hey. You can go to NERC (dot) us and click on the big red "Getting Started" button. There are links (hopefully ones that still work) that will point you in the right direction. Youtube isn't really the place for me to be explaining things like this to you. Good luck!

  • man thats a bit small try to build it again but bigger

  • dude how do u make dis

i have a project due in 4 days

  • That thing is nasty.

  • make a video on how to make it

  • something with a spinning saw blade should probaly be an outside toy 0.o

  • how much did that cost to make

  • You could build that exact platform for under $300. Overall I've probably put over $600 into different renovations of it all together for the 3+ years it has been fighting.

  • @goatman357 omg that is so expensive!!!!! nightmare cost $350 to build of battlebots

  • @liamglen1 Bull. He had sponsors. Each of his drive motors alone is over $150 (NPC T-64s). The Etek motor driving his weapon is about $800 and change. His wheels are at least $40 a pop. Throw in a custom (probably laser) cut weapon made out of hardened steel or Titanium and you're looking into at least $200 for the raw steel (at least a grand for Ti) and a cutting fee of maybe $100 at least (huge disc). ESCs and electronics haven't even been talked about. Raw cost at least $8,000 I'd say.

  • @goatman357 the etek motor was not driving the weapon the thing is to bug its got 10 hp and its 6 inches wide unless your talking about a diferent motor

  • you cant buy them you have to build them from scratch

  • id build a robot to do my homework (if i even could :( )

  • What motor did you use for the saw? What one do you recomend?Looking on starting up and ahave a good idea with the saw thing just not really kool on the whole motor thing yet.

  • it looks like a small 18 scale rc motor they can price around 20 to 200 dollars at least at my nobby shop

  • that would be a good lawnmower

  • where can i go to get some tips how to build one of these things there asome

  • where do you buy one

  • u cant buy em u make em

  • wooo yay to being 13. that needs more amour on it tho :)

  • it's very nice, but if you could use a claw to hold the enemy close then you could do more damage, cus ur bot wouldn't fly away as soon as you hit the enemy

  • Isn't the DX6 discontinues. They upgraded to the Dx6i. They still have the AR6000 receiver but they also have the new BR6000 receiver. By the way, I'm also thirteen and I fell in love with robotics after first watching the show robot wars. LOL. How we all relate...

  • same!

  • dude thats freealy scary, im 13 and fell in love with it from robot wars, now i compete at heavyweight level :)

  • what brand of remote are you using, also are you using modified servos as the drive motors?? i am 13 and i love robots

  • I am using a Spektrum DX6 2.4 GHz transmitter with the AR600 Bot Receiver (available at the Robot Marketplace online). In this video I was using 2 Banebots 24:1 16mm drive motors. I switched those out recently to 17:1 Maxon gearmotors.

  • sick design but what if there was like a claw or something on the top that pulled your opponent to the razor :D that would be cool

  • 1 pound weight limit...plus there really wouldn't be a point to it. If I could drive well enough to drag someone with a claw I might as well just drive into them...it would be a lot simpler. ;-)

  • cool design weapon is a bit unreliable though

  • lol, I can't help but to laugh at that you did this in the kitchen.

    Great design by the way.

  • you should try it on your brother.... and im only 12 hahahahahahahaha

  • No one cares how old you are.

Great design, but seems like an attacking robot could break it very easy

  • that is just friggin awesome dude!!!!!

  • how do you make these things?

  • do something so when you hit the other bots let the thing keep spinning

  • hey, Im trying to build a battlebot but im trying to find a way to make it turn.

im using two 360 servos instead of motors, they will go forward and reverse but I dont know how to make them spin opposite so it can steer.

    help would be appreciated!

  • you might want to use some lock tight on that bolt so it doesn't fall off during a battle

  • Already done. Thanks though.

  • i would make one but i hav no idea where any of the wires and crap would go... im only 12...

  • I know builders who are younger than you and still can compete quite well. I started when I was 13 personally. But BEFORE you start messing with things (you might hurt yourself or waste a lot of money), do some research. Start searching for websites, go on discussion forums and ask questions. It's not as hard as you think. I would recommend going on NERC's website or the RFL and get some tips there. If you have any direct questions though please don't hesitate to send me a personal message :).

  • o and what kind of motors are those? and where did you get the wheels?

  • Lol, unscrewing might be problematic.

  • sweet vid =-)

  • That's an awesome robot. There's only one thing I'd change about it. It looks like that blade will just go under some robots instead of getting a good hit. Moving the blade up a little bit should fix that problem.

  • Yeah for the most part that's true. This bot is now over 2 years old and is in dire need of a redesign. Even after a 2nd place showing at it's last competition, I almost broke an axi and my blade flew off. The whole chassis I think needs to be redone to eliminate huge pressure on the weapon motor from upward spinning drums/discs.

  • are you using a brushless motor for your undercutter?

  • yessir, an Axi 2208/20

  • ugh I've got tons of brush motors and no brushless! what would you say about a 9.6v motor from a power drill?

  • um...heavy? Very powerful I'm sure, but way to heavy for a 1 or even a 3 pounder.

  • What Moter are u useing i would like to no cuz im trying to build an ant weight bot but the moter i want is to hevey and to expensive

  • It's an axi brushless outrunner (available at hobby-lobby). It's the 2208/20 model. Very light, very powerful, fairly sturdy, and about $75 bucks. You'll also need a brushless speed controller. I'd recommend getting the one that comes with the hobby-lobby package. It's good.

  • Thx Alot

  • I would suggests raise the weapon up little higher so it won't hit the ground after hitting something hard.

  • yea im sure youve already done this but loctite on that nut might work. But other then that it sounds really powerful for weighing almost nothing.

P.S. Way to put safetey first LOL.

  • wow its turns really REALLY easilly with good practice and maybe a good check it can own the rest andu can win the prize mony =)

  • dude that things amazing you should call it the gremlin or something cool like that cause its freakin awsome!

  • Really good! The fact it's too powerful for it's self only makes it far more entertaining in mine eyes...

    Thinking of entering competitions?

  • Box #5 has already been to 4 competitions with an overall 10-4 record. So yes, I have thought about it, lol. It puts on a great show.

  • *runs outa control and saws off a table leg* OMG RUN.

  • Nice work.. I'm going to get back into this former hobby of mine.

  • Does anyone know how i could put a flipper on mine in one of the easiest ways

  • Probably the easiest way would be to buy a powerful servo (about $120 on the robot marketplace) and stick the flipper right on there. You can plug servos right into your receiver.

  • horizontal spinners hit themselves along witht he other bot. i think vertical spinners are better. cool bot tho, ive never heard of a one pound weight class :P

  • yo i would spin the blade to other way because the way its spinning it can only slash but if you spin it the other way the jagged blade would hack into your oppenent. just flip the blade over no neet to redirect the motor.

  • It actually is spinning that way, it's just an illusion. It digs into opponents quite well. And it's not as easy as just flipping the blade upside-down now...It's screwed on and the holes wouldn't match up...a simple wire switch however would reverse the motor if I had to.

  • N00B!

  • that was directed to "Killgates1"

  • i give u a tipp make your bot havier s he cant throw his self away

  • Wow your an idiot.

  • 1 pound? woah you mustv gone to pound strechers!

  • Weight Watchers actually :p.

  • it looks pretty good except i would secure that blade better it fell off on it own it prob wouldnt last in battle other then that looks good

  • LOL!!!! that thing is deadly@!

  • hey dude where did you get the parts for the bot and how much did it cost?

  • I got the parts from a variety of places including the Robot Market place, Banebots and hobby-lobby. It cost around $350 all together now but that's probably including spares and stuff.

  • that sucks

  • lol how could it be to powerful? ^.^ i woulda put a circular saw blade on it though, not just that.

  • a 5.5" Titanium waterjet cut saw blade with 6 jagged teeth isn't enough for you? lol. It isn't too powerful, just sometimes it destroys itself. That outrunner kicks ass.

  • where did you get the blade and how much did it cost? i need one for a vertical spinner bot i'm building.

  • The blade was water-jet cut at Aquacut engineering in Syracuse, NY. My friend had made it for one of his robots. I bought it off of him for $20. You'd either have to know someone who has a blade like that already, or get it made yourself. Water-jetting for that part could cost anything from $20-$50 I'd say depending on the place. It's made out of 6AL-4V titanium that's .08" thick. Hope that helps.

  • I don't care how small your robot is that's not safe. NEVER test a weapon in the kitchen. nice robot though.

  • wow that thing is packing heat.

  • plastic cover... good job

  • Is that blade motor brushless? and a 3s lipo maybe?

  • Ha, ha, ha....I need to build one of these for all the ankle snapping little rat dogs in my neighborhood that run out at my children.....Just Kidding !! Cool project.

  • The saw placement is bad, you don't have complete control over it. Other then that, KILLING SPREE!!!!

  • It's bolted on the hub, with a nut on the end and a set screw now. That thing aint coming off anymore.

  • I think you should at another sawblade at the other end of the robot and build protection around your wheels (some sort of roll cage thing) to make it better. The design is pretty nice and I think that you can definately beat other (bigger) bots with it because of its agility and speed

  • Haha that's awesome. Good job! I think it's a little too powerful for its own size though heh.

  • My thoughts exactly :D.

  • shouldn't the blade spin the other way if you want it to cut? coz spinning that way the flat side of the teeth are catching and throwing both bots around. Unless that was the plan?

  • No, the jagged edge is pointed towards the other bots, if you watch closely.

  • ok yeap that's what I thought But i thought the smooth edge was usually the sharp one so that it could cut without jamming.

  • don't you mean cut?

  • you could brake your hand with that

  • Shoes and some polycarb. might be smart :)

  • You're probably right...To tell you the truth I wasn't expecting it to be that powerful, that's why we stopped after the third shot.

when we were at the test arena I was wearing shoes and polycarb safety glasses (I'm not that unsafe, lol).

  • Your bot is Rowie, right?

  • Heh...almost. It's a Rowie clone of sorts, it's callend Box #5.
