i wanna be cool and say that i recognized ebon coast right off the bat... a zillion of ya got there before i did, but i just want to claim my cool points! ;) mad love
To bad the sound doesnt really show his true potential. Well, anyway really nice to see him do it leave. Playing so smoothly, while standing! Kudos to him - Cheers
I had the AMAZING pleasure of meeting Andy two days ago here at the Granada Theater here in Dallas, and he was a really nice guy (Although I only got to talk to him for a few minutes. But they were an awesome few minutes!)! We even had the priviledge of hearing him play a new song! All in all, a very memorable time! You won't be disappointed!
for those who have just seen this vid for the first time, the 2nd to last tune is ebon coast, one amazing song :) especially when he play's it alongside don ross
He, Craig and Antoine all sold CDs and signed them to whoever wanted them to sign, so I'd think Andy wouldn't have any problem signing your guitar! Enjoy the performance, I'm sure it'll be spectacular :)
yeah hes pretty good, i noticed through out the video alot of people left, they dont look like the type of people who enjoy this music though, but i could be wrong
The performance was quite long - Craig D'Andrea and Antoine played their own sets before Andy came on. This was also held on a Thursday night, so people had classes the next day. Everyone was very enthusiastic, but as the night wore on people left probably due to classwork, as the performance was (happily) much longer than what people probably thought it'd be.
That didn't stop me, of course - knew I'd see Andy no matter what work time I missed. :)
im sorry, but pretty good? that's a horrible name for andy. Andy is more a living guitar legend. Andy is amazinggggggggggggggggggggg i wouldnt care if i had an AP test or the SATs the next day i wouldnt miss andy live for the world.
Andy is the man-ive known him for years-he was my bass instructor for about a year. Yeah its a shame but in the US hes not that famous-he definately deserves alot of credit though-ive seen him tryin to live his dream for years and finally he got his success, goes to show you that if you never give up eventually things will go your way!!
think the reason why ppl is standing still and not bouncing around is that they dont want to destroy the mood for everyone else, and if you would be there up beside him drewling i would probably have to kick your ass mate :P
I'm almost completely sure that craig d' andrea and antoine dufour are in the video, also sure andy mckee is in the video but anyway... cool! where was this recorded? did antoine and craig played too? who else was therE?

You're right, Craig D'Andrea and Antoine Dufour were both there and both played earlier in the evening. This was recorded in the Underground Cafe at Carnegie Mellon University. If you want to see more recordings of Craig, Antoine, and Andy, check out DandonTRJ's channel. :)
ok thanks pal, sorry for the other 3 comments, its i kept clickin the post commment button and nothing happened and when they were posted there was 3 comments hehehe. thanks!
Very Cool! The sound quality with the camera is really good too. I actually have the original version of Africa, (its a pop song, he just does an acoustic rendition of it). Wish I could have been there!
Yeah, he told us it was a Toto cover. He is a big fan of 80's music - he said while the synths could be 'cheesy' sometimes, he said there was a lot of good songwriting back then. See! I'm so justified in my liking of 80's music. :)

He uses special magnet pickups (the same type like the LR BAGGS M1 active pickup, Wich is in his baritone guitar)

Man everyone seems dead, hopefully it's them really enjoying the music and not like "Oh my god, why am I watching this....?"
I'd be just, wide eyed, up front and drooling. I love Andy McKee, I'm going to see if he can play my campus!

I've seen him live too. Front row seat. And the reason I wasn't "rocking out" was twofold.
1: It's not the type of music I rock out to
2: I was simply awestruck... This stuff is so extremely more powerfull live.

the song that you don't know the name of is called Ebon Coast and i believe it's a song made by Don Ross.
SheddingSkin34 4 years ago
Thanks, yes that sounds right - I'll add it into the description. Thanks again!
JonasOrlas 4 years ago
Ebon Coast is not a Don Ross song, it is Andy's first song he wrote on the baritone. I'm not just being an arse, just correcting you. =)
