I have both info and questions regarding issues around the check valve, such as details about it and the pros/cons of eliminating it and the connection to the filter head altogether. I'm just confirming some info and I'll probably make a video about it. So how did your replacement of the injection pump go? My understanding is that if they get water in them then they can begin to corrode, leading to little bits which then clog up or stick open the check valve ball.
.... So noooo Bad Head. Replace the pump, injectors, fuel lines, fuel/water seperator (I have another new one -get it for 30$, new for a cummins semi)
It runs great.
I had ... about ... 3-4 fuel leaks, and low fuel in the tank causing intermittent stalling for about the last 2 weeks ...
I have noticed that alot of ford diesels when at the Stations pump will trip the full tank shut off ... I thought I had a bad fuel gauge or connector ... but my farm/gravity tank filled it !!!
Holy Mother of Atomized Hydrocarbons! That thing is running a bit rich. What a drag it must be to have to strain the return line to keep chunks of injector pump out of the check-valve.
... It should be great ... we have been in the deep freeze, but I should have it back together here in the week ... with a new video. Hopefully static timing is good == LOL ... I like the last guys comment .. "Its a blown ring, its a piece of shit engine, I got around 110,000 miles out of mine before I scrapped the truck. "
Liars - the world wouldn't be the same without them ....!!!
The check Valve is right on the forward top side of the pump. So you open the hood. You will see a fuel line coming off of the front/top side of the pump. The check valve is INLINE/connected behind the fuel line I described. It has a glass bead that is modulated to open/close fuel flow with a spring.
I am now replacing the pump. Pulled it OFF tonight.
alright thanks, i pulled and cleaned it, but it still runs for crap lol. no i have to replace te o-rings on the injectors. weird huh. they might be bad. but tell me what fixed your teuck when you get it fixed.
On my car, the return valve would jam up because of a broken pump bearing, pump needs replacing, its not to much fuel going into engine its unburnt fuel as injection timing moves with different internal pump pressures.

It's running like you've got a blown head gasket.

Make sure fuel filter exists!
any muck in pumps usually kills them.
tpvalley 3 years ago
Its not getting to much fuel, this would cause a runaway, its causing the timing to go out as timing is controled by internal pressure usually.
I knew a car where fuel return and inlet were wrong way round so it was getting shit from tank and when fuel got to quarter full it would pull in air!
Obviously urs is correct?
U should have no dirt in pump.
Have u bacterial fuel infection?
need antibiotic fuel treatment if u do.
Damp causes this. and old fuel.
