I tiger is a different and closer story, both are large but the tiger is larger and stronger, longer, and more agile and would win about 3/4 of the time in a fight

I just like Lions because of their courage. Lions willingly fight and hunt the Largest, Heaviest (Elephants), Tallest (Giraffes) and Most deadly (Hippos, Buffolo) animals alive. It takes a lot of courage for any animal to hunt something that can be 30-45 times heavier and much larger then itself.

@0din27 if a elephant rolled over onto its side it would not be able to get up and after about 5 hours or so its organs are so heavy they would crush each other because of the weight and die (if predators dont get at them first)

1st off African female elephants stand about 9-10ft high at shoulder..males 13-14ft high, both weighing between 7,700lbs to 26,000 (the guy says she is 10ft 8k lbs). The female african lion is about 7-8ft long, males are around 9...if you watch this video(@ 1:13+) the elephant is clearly larger than those lions by at least 2-3ft as you see the one trying to climb her..she IS full grown. If she had been with her pack, the lions would not have attacked her since they wouldnt of had the advantage.

Likewise, I am 100% that Elephant is not an adult. Such an event is so rare, I suppose they could not help but dramatise the events taking place. A lion would not be able to issue a death blow and would have to eat it alive. Highly unlikely.
Male lions usually don't hunt due to the large mane which would give suspecting prey an advantage in spotting them, not necessarily because they are inferior to female lions.

This was a rather small female elephant. Elephants can get alot bigger, particularly the bull elephants. This female probably was a good choice to attack if they wanted a big meal. The elephant's strength is what saved it. Could you imagine 8 elephants against one lion?

I just like Lions because of their courage. Lions willingly fight and hunt the Largest, Heaviest (Elephants), Tallest (Giraffes) and Most deadly (Hippos, Buffolo) animals alive. It takes a lot of courage for any animal to hunt something that can be 30-45 times heavier and much larger then itself.

This was a female elephant. Against a Bull elephant, these lions would end up as pancakes.

1st off African female elephants stand about 9-10ft high at shoulder..males 13-14ft high, both weighing between 7,700lbs to 26,000 (the guy says she is 10ft 8k lbs). The female african lion is about 7-8ft long, males are around 9...if you watch this video(@ 1:13+) the elephant is clearly larger than those lions by at least 2-3ft as you see the one trying to climb her..she IS full grown. If she had been with her pack, the lions would not have attacked her since they wouldnt of had the advantage.

This was a rather small female elephant. Elephants can get alot bigger, particularly the bull elephants. This female probably was a good choice to attack if they wanted a big meal. The elephant's strength is what saved it. Could you imagine 8 elephants against one lion?
