  • If some of you listened to Run nigger run by The Skillet Lickers then you'd learn that the ghetto rap is much more rasical than your belived "rasict" Dixie songs..

  • @mudvayneia is it perhaps more ironic like the british song run-rabbit-run dont give the farmer his fun fun fun... ?

or the feds will get you? how many hillbilly bootleggers like the feds?

  • Wow, where did you find this rare find? Thanks.

  • Hello there! I actually got it off of a CD that I bought. They were one of the greatest country string bands of the 1920's in my opinion. I'm glad that you enjoyed them as well. Thank you for watching, and I hope you have a great day, Brian

  • Skillet Lickers & Bill Monroe sound like the pappy of Come an git the bucket (guthrie), candy man & cocaine (dylan-van ronk). Willis & Doc Watson are jez too polished fer old time fiddlerz, my opinion.

In other words, this tune by Skillet Licker is so goood, its the generator (pappy) of the folk style 0f 30s-60s in NYC.

  • Doc Watson did it in Places in the Heart. It was too short. Longest and best is Wills. IMHO...

  • I like the Bob Wills version better, but this really rocks!
