Oh this song most definitely belongs on this list; actually, I'd promote it to #3, right behind Toe Jam and Earl; but not the NES rendition... ZX Spectrum remix sounded the best IMHO
According to the game's credits, the composer is "New". This version of the game was developed by Sunsoft, but yes, Jonathan Dunn DID compose the C64 version which was ported here, so he should be credited. Maybe it was Naoki Kodaka or Nobuyuki Hara who ported it.
merci pour cette série musical relatif au jeux vidéo, j'adore celà rapelle de bon souvenir !!! thank you for this series of musical track......... good memories... tank you my friend.....
I've never understood why developers would make a game based on the Vietnam War. Movies I can understand, but why would you want to play as a soldier going through the hell that those men went through? Meh..
Anyways, the music in this game is pretty damn good considering the gameplay appears to be a lot of monotonous garbage.
? does it make sense that they make games about *any* actual war? none of them were particularly pleasant for the participants - WWII really wasnt any less horrifying, and there are millions about that.
You're dead. Your friends are dead. Your family's dead. Your fucking pets are being skinned alive. Your mom's a fucking whore. You suck at life. The whole world hates you. You're going to Hell. Live with it.
i love this music. it manages to be both relaxing and exciting at the same time, know what i mean? it's not to loud or harsh, but it makes you feel a great feeling of suspense.
i hope whoever composed this is still making music for video games. :)
@littlegreengamer Well, Jonathan Dunn originally composed the music but Sunsoft told me David Whittaker did the NES version. Jon doesn't do music for games anymore and last I heard, Whittaker does speech dialogue editing and recording at Electronic Arts.
for as good as the music and opening movie are the gameplay is complete shit. Not including at least a map for a game like this makes it impossible without help. I've never met anybody who beat this game without another person's help, nintendo power or the internet. And even then it's 50% luck.
Oh god...when I had heard mention of this game in various places, I couldn't remember it. Then I come to this video and see the gameplay, and all the horrible memories come flooding back. I despised this game when I was little...
As for the remixing comment, look up "Diplo Rhythm". Sped up with some Brazilian vocals and a bit more of a stronger kick. There's really nothing else to it, and I guess the track is popular outside of the States.
the thing that made this game hard was that enemies would just pop out from the trees, and always behind you, so you had to have lightning fast reflexes to survive, but the intro is great, i loved waaay back when it came out too
I gotta call b.s. on this being in the top 10. Seriously. The music is okay but not by the standards of the rest of the games in the top ten. If that were the case you might as well have Predator right in here. Geez.
I understand that you might think that the numbers are rankings, but they aren't. I made the videos in whichever order I felt like it. I find ranking stuff that has subjective appreciation a futile task, so my goal is just to have good tunes.
Man, I wish I was that good at video games. I use videos from various sources just so people have something to watch while listening to the music. If I'm gonna use some video footage, might as well try to get something interesting.
In my book, it sure beats looking at the game's cover art for minutes on end.
There's also kind of a back story as to why this one was featured so soon. My channel actually started as a feature on a GameSpot blog I used to run a while back, and this game is actually what spawned the idea for the series. I guess it's a little nod to some peeps that know me from way back.
That being said, when I first (re)made this vid, I remember thinking to myself "hey, I can post these in whatever order I want", so that's pretty much how it's been since. I kind of like it like that.
Ohhhhh okay, I see now. Yeah, it would be way to difficult to rank them all. It is just easier to do it by entry alone. Cool. Thanks alot of these videos btw.
Wow, that's some great music. The game, on the other hand, doesn't look too appealing. Awesome music though... Some OCRemixers need to jump on this. :P
The music was actually composed by David Whittaker.

Listen to the first 25 seconds of this, then listen to the intro to Womanizer by Britney Spears. Am I the only one that hears how close they sound?

Annoying game, but terrific music (title and first level tune). Someone please upload the whole first level tune - it goes on for quite some time.

just the setting. has almost nothing to do with the plot or the characters.

That's a good call on the futility of rank. You're insanely fast in these games. If I try this it will just give me tendinitis.

Very Wise. Had you ranked it you may not have even included this, and the final peice was surprisingly well done in my opinion. Much appreciated sir.
