I love the way you suddenly stopped playing (right as I was crying "bullshit!") and let the backing track just continue on. That was sweet. Your tone and playing are so good I thought all you were doing was pick-synching (hey, I just invented a word) to a recorded track. Kudos brother. You're one of the best on YouTube.
@yannee69 I noticed very little difference in sustain or sound quality between the old bridge and the kahler whammy bridge. I've never missed the old bridge. I've never regretted changing it. I love to whammy.
@coltong400 It does stay in tune pretty well. It's not perfect though. Sometimes it seems to come up a little flat. And since I've never owned a Floyd Rose before, I can't say which is better. The Kahler or the Floyd Rose. But I've seen some other videos where they say the Floyd Rose is better.
@BigORat I've got a floyd on my jackson dk2. It stays in tune for about three days with divebombs everynow and then, and lots and lots of bending. But if a kahler stays in tune quite well (2 days), I would much rather get a les paul with a kahler and not have half the guitar routed out with a floyd rose.
@SuperGuitarMark Honestly, I couldn't tell you. I don't remember. I had it done at a guitar shop in 1983. (27 years ago). And I've never taken it apart. Seems to me, I sort of remember the technician telling me he had to carve out some of the wood to give the saddle more room to pivot, if you know what I mean. Only maintenance I've ever done is a little WD40 or 3 and 1 oil.
@danirock Nope. Mine till death. Or until somebody steals it. I bought it brand new 33 years ago when I was 17 and a junior in high school. When America was...well,...a better America. 1 owner. Every scratch on her is mine. My scratch. Many, many band jobs, parties, and a lifetime of great times and memories with this guitar. I won't part with it ever. I love it too danirock!
@BigORat That's how I feel about my les paul! I got it when I was 14 from a family member and I've been through so many bands, live shows, family gatherings, and hard times with it I'll never part with it.
sweet!!

when you installed the kahler tremolo system, did you have drill holes into the guitar or does it install on existing hardware?

This sounds like something you would hear in a overworked strip club in ohio at 2 in the morning.
You have skills.
