A symbol is only as good as its meaning. Christ was crucified on a literal wooden cross as testified by the Biblical writers but also ancient secular historians. So, the meaning of the cross to Christians is what Christ did on those two pieces of wood. Nothing pagan behind it at all.

its is a proven fact, christianity has taken and stole, and til this day uses practices and systems that were originally pagan. Holidays, things they do in church, there religion structure...all has been influenced by pagan spiritual systems throughout european society..those of u who thinks christmas and easter r christian holidays, think again,even the stories are all backwards and made up, the story of jesus is comparible to atleast 3 other culture's lore and history. coinsedence? i think not

Christianity stole nothing from paganism. This a a huge myth. However, attempts have been made to make it appear as such. Please don't bring up Easter or Dec. 25th, they really have nothing to do with Christianity.

wow, 4 u to actually believe that is just flat out ignorant, christmas was changed to december 25th at the council of nicaea by emperor constantine because he was a born pagan and didnt want conflict in his empire between christians and pagans so he joined all beliefs and holidays on both sides into one, and til this day its stuck. jesus wasnt born on dec 25th, more life mid summer, saturnalia was the the original pagan holiday on tht day 2 honor the birth of the sun god,mithra in ancient rome.

NO WHERE does the Bible is Dec 25 is Christ's b-day thus that date has nothing to do with Christianity. Dec. 25th was attributed to as Christ's b-day by Pope Julius in A.D. 350. The council of Nicea was held in A.D. 325 & had NOTHING to do with Christ's b-day or the books of Bible cannon. It had to do with Arianism. Please do your research. Thanks.

what christmas decorations do u know of represent anything christian??? none. trees, decking the halls, gift giving, light/candles etc...all pagan. the pine tree was sacred to paganistic cultures because it was the only tree in fall that didnt lose its leaves, it was eternal 2 them, and represented rebirth, and also representin the rebirth of the sun god, and beginning of winter. candles n lights were put out to represent the comin of the sun after the longest night of the year.

What makes Christianity different from Judaism is Jesus.
Dionysus, Osiris, and others all have the same/similar story that Jesus does. Dionysus and Osiris are older than Jesus. Therefore, Jesus was unoriginal.
Oh yes, Easter has nothing do to with Christianity. EASTER WAS THE CENTRAL HOLIDAY OF ANCIENT CHRISTIANITY. It was Pagan. Christianity stole it. Now it's Christian.
Christianity took the Pagan customs and adapted them to fit as it spread, making it easy to get new converts.

Even so, this says nothing about Christian doctrine. You don;t have to celebrate holidays to be a Christian. Christianity is doctrine NOT holidays.
If you actually research Osiris, Dionysus, etc. You'll see that there not even similar to Jesus. Pagans and atheists try hard to make them seem similar. :)

Thoroughly research Mithras and you'll see there are 2 versions: Persian & Roman. The Persian version has no real similarities and the Roman POST dates Xtianity. Here is where similarities are. The Romans stole from Xianity.
Dionysus is nothing like Christ. Christ was a real person. Dig deeper.
I do practice Xtianity as it originally existed. The Bible is the source of practice & early church fathers kept accurate records too.
