Please. This has very little to do with helping people. This is sick, sick, sick behavior on the part of someone who doesn't seem to have a firm grasp on reality. Most real vigilante groups wear body armor instead of super hero costumes, they don't call attention to themselves, and they usually call the police instead of playing dress up. I read on one of his blogs how he attacked a group of drug dealers. No one was in immediate danger. He's going to get himself and his band of twits killed.

He could have called the cops and been done with it. I'm a marital artist, so I have little bit of a clue as to how effective his tactics would be.

As for the cop getting killed, please tell that to the spouse and children of the officer. My father was a fire fighter, and he died in the line of duty, so I know how they would feel.

Let's review., shall we. The Hare does NOT wear body armor. The Hare does not appear to have any sort of self defense training that anyone can see. He lacks the training and tactics that law enforcement are given to deal with these situations. The point is that it is highly probably that one day he will create a situation through his actions that will lead someone being injured when they wouldn't have been. If the Hare were an ex marine or cop, I wouldn't have a problem with this.

I've had training in hand to hand combat and self defense, something one would assume that you would need to know to handle yourself in these situations, something that just about every law enforcement officer receives training in, and you think it is irrelevant? No, your right, it is totally unreasonable to conclude that someone who is out of shape with pepper spray and a tazer is going to lose to someone with gun. Shadow Hare is awesome. I read on his blog that he fought a rapist once. He also dislocated his shoulder while helping a woman who was attacked. They do cool crimefighting, but not on camera. The best thing they can do on camera is give out food to the homeless.

Well, to be totally honest, it's the costume that makes this thing completely stupid. I applaud a group of youths who go out trying to keep other youths from hurting people, and the pepper spray and cuffs are pragmatic choices. The problem is that they're doing more than protecting their identities, they're playing a game, and everyone can see it. The names they take didn't have to be super-hero names. The costumes (capes especially) are a hindrance.
